| #1shinefeatherMay 25, 2009 8:51:32 | The Cleric Greetings all. I’m a pretty average D&D player so my knowledge on many of the feats and spells and such are limited. But here it goes. Are any of you familiar with the Cleric from the movie "Equilibrium?" Well, I wish to make one of those. We were going to start out at about level 3 so I’m basically asking for a leveling guide for the Gunkata. My only ideas for it is pretty basic I guess. Starting with Scout and going into fighter for all the feats that I’ll require for Melee range gun fighting; Mobility and Spring attack and Close combat shots and the like. Though, there will be no guns I was thinking of using repeating cross bows. Anyone able to help? Honorably, Shinefeather http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tINWl0gzQWI |

| #4hijaxxMay 25, 2009 9:19:43 | scouts gain proficiency with simple weapons, handaxe, throwing axe, shortsword, and shortbow |
| #5shinefeatherMay 25, 2009 9:24:32 | I'll have to get Exotic Weapon Prof (Repeating Crossbow) then :S Another feat. This char is going to be hard to make. |
| #6hijaxxMay 25, 2009 9:30:37 | im not sure there is any class anywhere that gets proficiency with that weapon :D i suggest exotic weapon master(complete warrior). ranged disarm is cool. |

| #11dr_rocktopusMay 25, 2009 13:15:04 | Okay, some thoughts and notes: You only need TWF as ITWF can be bought for 10k in the form Gloves of the Balanced Hand. Crossbow specialization is very feat intensive. Very very. We're basically going to need to build you as a swift hunter, likely with a fighter dip, so go take a look at the swift hunter's handbook. Are psionics allowed? Or some way of getting Hustle? Alternatively, can we get the travel devotion? |
| #12divinechaos78May 25, 2009 14:25:05 | The Cleric Mmmm I seem to remember guns listed in the DMG, theres also a feat in D20 modern I somewhat remember, I believe its called "Exotic Weapon Proficincy Firearms" which if I remember correctly, grants the use of all firearms from pistols to blunderbuss type rifles. |
| #13dr_rocktopusMay 25, 2009 18:56:07 | I... Don't think that's what he wanted....... |
| #14divinechaos78May 25, 2009 19:40:51 | oh come on now, he said Gunkata right? You cant have Gunkata with hand crossbows now can ya? heh. |
| #15dr_rocktopusMay 25, 2009 20:10:28 | In that case, perhaps you could use the iron kingdoms rules for handguns and their ilk. They're fun but not very strong. |
| #16SenevriMay 26, 2009 3:25:28 | Whether or not the game OP is playing at has handguns, and if they're any good, we know not. Of course, if there are guns, which are decent, accessible and not too expensive, picking them is recommended. Doesn't really matter for majority of feats, except that he becomes ineligible for crossbow-specific feats. |
