| #1dr_rocktopusMay 01, 2009 9:33:38 | I don't think anyone pulled together a thread to pay respects to Dave Arneson. I know a lot of people didn't like him very much, but I personally always thought highly of him. And perhaps slightly unlike Gygax, Arneson was ours, one of us specifically. Perhaps the first one of us, in every respect. I know this doesn't really belong here, but I just wanted to say it somewhere, anywhere, where people would understand my feelings. I'm a big believer in wakes, but I am short on resources and could not make it to Arneson's memorial service. So the receiving line starts here, but in proper CO fashion rather than flowers or kind wishes, I'd like you to leave one broken trick or cool tactic. Hail the victorious dead! To the best of us and the worst of us! My trick, to start the pile out, is: You can use gremma's cauldron to produce potions of personal spells, as it does not limit the nature of the scroll converted. Arguably, you could probably make potions of scrolls higher than third level. It's not much, but I wanted to start small. |

Elan's who take the Eternal Hero epic destiny are effectively immortal. They auto-resurrect at dawn every day and due to being Elan's cannot die from old age. The nice part about this trick is that if you follow the Epic Destiny Variant this can be done without being epic level. |
