Halfling Ruby Knight build: Fresh idea on old concept

The concept has been done before (I don't remember who first posted it), but the idea is to use Tornado Throw + Blade Barrier to deal a good amount of damage. I'm using a Halfling simply because a midget throwing people around the field makes me laugh, but I do need help with gear (and possibly feats). Any suggestions are welcome. Specifically looking for ways to boost speed (that will stack with or be better then the monk's enhancement bonus), ways to up my trip mod (already able to use dex and enemies of size large or bigger don't get size bonus), or ways to further increase my unarmed damage (which is 2d6+10, BAB of +17/+12/+7/+2 before flurry currently).

Build: Monk(Passive way)2/Cleric3/Swordsage(unarmed variant)5/Ruby Knight Vindicator10
While not the most optimal, the DM of the game is using multiclass penalties, is allowing Monk and Swordsage AC bonus to stack as well as unarmed damage progression, and won't allow more then one PrC.

Feats:
monk bonus: Improved Unarmed Strike, Combat Expertise, Improved Trip
Swordsage bonus: Weapon Focus (Setting Sun for unarmed strike)
Regular: Improved Initiative, Weapon Finesse, Yondalla's Sense, Underfoot Combat, Confound the Big Folk, Superior Unarmed Strike, Shadow Blade

Gear:
+6 Periapt of Wisdom, +5 Tome of Understanding, +6 Gloves of Dexterity, +4 Manual of Quickness of Action, Monk's Belt, Ring of Freedom of Movement, Ring of Protection +5, Bracers of Armor +8, Luckstone, Pale Green Ioun Stone.
Money Left:223,500gp

Books Allowed: Core, Complete, Races of X, Magic Item Compendium, ToB, ToM, Arms and Equipment Guide, BoED/BoVD, CoV, CoR, Shining South, Unapproachable East, Savage Species, and PBH2.

What about Strongheart Halfling from Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting that trades its racial bonus to saves for a feat and gets +2 DEX/-2 STR?

Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis(22,000, ToM). Great item, will give you +10 speed(In addition to lots of other benefits).

Reduce Person on you would help, 2 more dex, and you can move through squares more easily. You have to move into the square, though, so I don't know if that would result in you using up more movement(clever throwing positioning would make that point moot).

INA will increase the damage a bit more, especially if you reduce person.

Third Eye Surge(MiC) will net you +2(3 a day) +3(1 a day, with a +2) or +4(1 a day) insight to dex checks and weapon damage rolls. It costs 2.1k, so keep like 5 of them on you and basically its usable once per combat then, and swap it out after combat. It works for the whole round.

Helm of Battle(MiC) gives +2 unnamed, but only works for the first attack. Works 3/day, pick up like 5 and again swap em out between combat. Works to start getting the tornado moving.

How are you getting rid of their size bonus to trip?

Great suggestions, especially on the Collar, I'd forgotten about that.

As to getting rid of their size bonus, Confound the Big folk. I have to move into their square, then next round I can make a trip attack where they get no bonus.

I'm not sure confound the big folk can be used with Tornado Throw like that. It states that if you use a standard action the next turn to make the trip, they don't get size bonuses to avoid it. I am not sure that it gives the bonus to trip attempts from other abilities(Such as tornado throw).

Unsteady Footing: To use this maneuver, you must first move into a square occupied by a foe at least two size categories larger than you. On the next round, you can use a standard action to attempt to trip your foe without provoking attacks of opportunity. If your touch attack to initiate the trip attack succeeds, you can attempt a Strength or Dexterity check (your choice) opposed by your foe’s Strength or Dexterity check (as normal) to trip your foe. Your foe may not add any bonus on his Strength or Dexterity check to avoid the trip that he would gain from his size. If your trip check fails, your opponent may not attempt to trip you. If you have Improved Trip, you can follow a successful trip attempt with an immediate melee attack.

It keeps mentioning "the trip attack" which is gained through using a standard action. I don't see how you can apply it to tornado throw.

Tornado throw specifically says it is resolved as a trip attack

My issue with that is that Confound the big folk does not use the phrase "Any trip attempt", it instead specifies the trip check in the actual feat ability, which is initiated through a standard action. The wording of the feat leads me to believe that it cannot be used by any other trip techniques except the one through Confound the Big Folk.

Drop Monk, because your getting the same bonuses from Swordsage, if your going for the melee route, then just stick to Swordsage/cleric/RKV. If your going the caster route then DEFINATELY! drop Monk sense you will need more caster lvls, as it is your not going to be getting 9th lvl spells until your epic.

This is a severly messed up build to be honest.

The goal wasn't to get 9th level spells, that's an easy enough task. The goal was to raise my trip attempt bonus as high as possible (While being a Halfling) to make use of Tornado Throw and combine that with Blade Barrier to do loads of damage.

Second level of monk gets me a bonus feat, +1 BAB, +1 to all saves, and Evasion. Though dropping the 3rd level of Monk isn't a bad idea, one more level of Swordsage would get me the +1 to Initiative and another maneuver known/readed along with another stance.
