I'm playing in a 3.5 game, my charcter has already died once and the next time we have a near party wipe I want to bring in a new character. Using just WotC books were 7th lvl right now. The character would look something like this

race - haven't decided yet
classes - Brb 5 /Hellrever 1 /Champion of Qwynharwyf 1
alignment - CG
ability scores - Str 17 Dex 16 Con 13 Int 8 Wis 13 Cha 12(haven't allocated lvl 4 add yet)
feats - Knight of Stars, Power Attack, Righteous Wrath
skills - intimidate/knowledge(planes)
equipment - not picked yet

Any suggestions would be appreciated, the GM likes sending challanges against us where he doesn't want to lose the evil npc so makes it night unto unkillable. And he loves grafts for some reason(I'm beginning to hate grafts).

I don't know if Hellreaver 1 is worth it... 2 levels of champion gives divine grace already, and the other class abilities are nice enough as well not to delay getting them.

As for ability scores: i'd change dex with con, maybe also wis with cha. And spend some equipment gc on ability score raising items.

Race: I'd consider human, if only for the extra feat.

As for barbarian: consider the lion totem from complete champion, get pounce, maybe also whirling frenzy alternative class feature from unearthed arcana.

Barb 3/Fighter 2/hellreaver1/champion 1

Gives you 2 fighter feats over 1 rage/day and improved uncanny dodge.

Take extra rage and you are ahead in rages /day, use the other feat for something cool.

You are already playing a CG barbarian who is into being CG and stuff. Have you considered

Barb 1/CG paladin variant 2/Fighter 2/Hellreaver X

You give up uncanny dodge and trap sense, but get all of the good stuff from your champion of lgjkbhfglh without devoting levels to it, or taking not so great feats.

With the extra feats you open up snag extra rage, and maybe extra smite.

Also, take lion totem every time with barbarian.

Champion requires 9 ranks in intimidate(6th lvl minimum to get this).

As for ability scores: i'd change dex with con, maybe also wis with cha. And spend some equipment gc on ability score raising items.

I was wondering on whether or not to switch dex and con too. And was probably going to get stat boosting items.
I might go with human.
I will take both those alternate class features under advisement.

Krusk: I might take a few fighter levels(just will take a skill point hit doing that). I'm not worried about rages per day as much. And as for the CG paladin suggestion I may not have said it, however CoQ is the focus here, probably be taking all 10 levels. So although I'm sure Brb 1 / CG Pal 2 / Ftr 2 / Hellreaver X is a excelent option, it just won't do in this case.

Human is always a good race - so good that I actually banned it in a recent campaign of mine, but that's another story.

I would suggest, if you're aiming to be a barbarian, Neandertal from Frostburn.  Sure it's illiterate but it has good racial modifiers and traits:
+2 str +2 con -2 dex -2 int.
+1 to hit with primative weapons (there's a list involved here)
+2 on listen spot survival
Treated as if under a permanent effect of endure elements
Favored class Barbarian

With Racials your stats "could" be:
Str 19
Dex 14
Con 15
Int 6
Wis 13
Cha 12(haven't allocated lvl 4 add yet)

You'll be screwed skillpoint wise, but still, you're not a rogue/bard here.

I looked over the Hellreaver class - honestly I can't see the appeal of the 1 level dip - with a 12 Charisma that would mean that you would get 2 attacks a +2 to hit and +1d6 damage, basically a worse version of Smite evil (Better at low levels and infinately worse at high levels).

As for the rage variant, Whirling Rage - this is something that is generally good if you aren't taking multi-rage classes.  That is to say, attempting to stack rage effects (as it specifically states you aren't allowed to).  I don't see that in your build, so you should consider it, as the armor class boost is actually quite nice, as when you rage you suddenly become more durable, though in a different way.  The lack of a Con bonus is going to ensure that your rages aren't going to last that long, however (4 rounds with a 13 con as human).

As for the Lion's totem - take it.  Pounce is one of the game's most powerful abilities, and it's exchanged for a class ability that never increases.

As unoriginal as it is, I suggest the standard:
Barbarian 2, Fighter 4, Champion of Gwyn X

What you get out of this build is the best of the Barbarian 1 level dip - as no build suggested seems to go that far into Barbarian, and uncanny dodge, then 3 fighter feats to push whatever build agenda you're working on, and of course Champion of Gwyn, which is what you're after.

This is just a side-note for anyone reading this who plays a good aligned spellcaster:  Read the section on page 83 about sanctified magic.  Any spellcaster who prepares spells (this includes the Champ of Gwyn) can prepare a sanctified spell (and good aligned clerics can SPONTANEOUSLY CAST THEM).  While I don't profess these to be the GREATEST spells ever, I would like to point out that they add versitility.  Luminous Armor, for example, is baller (Why not give all melee attackers a -4 to hit you in addition to the +5 armor bonus?)  Mind you, you may have better armor than the Luminous armor, but that -4 stacks with everything.

Just food 4 thought.

Pally of Freedom4/Barb1/Hellreaver3 is a nice 8th level character.  Pally4 gets you Turn Undead, a powerful ability you can use to power feats like Chaos Devotion, Animal Devotion, Travel Devotion, Divine Might, or Divine Shield (with an Animated Shield of course).  Lots of good stuff there, lots of ways to swing your charisma like a stick.

If you go Barb first, don't you get extra skill points?

Also, would you say going Barb 2 for Pounce and Improved Trip is is worth the loss of a level in Hellreaver?

To let you know I am still listening. We haven't had another session, so this is still a possible back up character.
What I decided on finally -

race - wild elf
classes - Brb 5 / Hellreaver 1 / Champion of Qwynharwyf 1
alignment - CG
ability scores - Str 17 Dex 15 Con 8(12)* Int 10 Wis 14[4th lvl] Cha 16
feats - Knight of Stars, Power Attack, Righteous Wrath
skills - Intimidate 10rnks, Knowledge(planes) 4rnks, Listen 8rnks, Ride 3rnks, Spot 1rnk, Survival 5rnks, Swim 3rnks
equipment - so far *Amulet of Health +4

I took Hellreaver because I was looking for a barbarian PrC that allows entry pre 6th or 7th lvl, and thats the only 1 I could find. I also prefer the immunity to fear that Holy Fury gives, I also like its lay on hands like ability it gets later as well. I still have time before having to decide on the lion totem and whirling frenzy alternate abilities.
