| #1sunsetpsychosisApr 29, 2008 16:26:40 | Alright, I'm playing in an Undermountain campaign held at the local comic shop. I've been playing it with different characters for quite some time (its not so much a real campaign as it is a dungeon crawl with whoever shows up every week) and even DMed for a few months, but I've finally gotten back to playing. I usually play spellcasters of the support or annoyance variety (healing spec clerics and wizard/beguilers galore), but I decided to try something new for once. Enter Grog. Grog is my new pet character, but I need some help optimizing him. This is what he is so far Grog Neanderthal Barbarian 3/Fighter 3 Str 18 Dex 12 Con 18 Int 8 Wis 14 Cha 8 Feats: Power Attack, Improved Sunder, Improved Bull Rush, and possibly Shock Trooper (just leveled last session) Special Abilities: Trapkiller (from Dungeonscape, lets me find traps with survival checks and disarm with attack rolls, replaces trap sense) Dungeon crasher (+5 bonus on breaking things, +2 on saves and AC against traps, 4d6+double strength bonus damage when I bull rush someone against a wall, scales up to +10, +4, +8d6 at fighter 6, replaces fighter feats at 2 and 6) Pounce (because why not? I'm wearing full plate anyways, so fast movement does me jack squat) My main weapon at this point is a +1 adamantine greathammer (not a goliath greathammer, sadly, haven't burned the feat on proficiency, so its functionally a warmace that looks like a hammer) The basic concept of what I'm trying to build is the epitome of the big, dumb brute, specializing in knocking people around and putting holes in things. The only other feats I can think of taking at this point are Combat Brute and Knockback (if the DM will accept being permanently enlarged as being a large creature to meat the prereqs, if so it'll be wicked in small hallways). I'm looking for any ideas for feats, equipment, and PrC's that might let me better bash my way into happiness and glory. I've seen how wicked some of the minds here are, so I'm sure you guys will come up with some awesome stuff. Oh, and the allowed books are basically Core, Races, Completes, FR stuff, and setting stuff (like Dungeonscape, Stormwrack, stuff like that), though I might be able to push for someother stuff. Thanks! |
