I've been wanting to build a character based on him for a long time. However his set of abilities seems difficult to do without being a caster. Now then, I was thinking about this, and compiled his abilities. 1: Mystically opening locks 2: Create clones of himself that can fight 3: Being able to teleport away 4: Create shadows that make it harder to hit him 5: Elementally charging his weapons Now I was thinking, and it seems the Wu Jen would be ideal with it's spell list for this sort of thing, but if I do that I don't get the dex abilities that would make him ninja-like. The other option I came up with was the Arcane Swordsage, using it to get spells and maneuvres... picking up from the Wu Jen list mainly. This would allow him to use his abilties as is appropriate, and allow the clones to fight at the same potential. However, I have no idea how the maneuvre trading system works, I keep trying to find it in the books, but cannot see it. Weapon will be a Kusari-gama, treated as shadow hand weapon as it is a kama on a chain So my questions are: 1: Are there any ways to do this besides what I have suggested? Even factotum isn't enough I don't think. 2: If I went with the arcane swordsage, besides shadow blade and adaptive style what sort of feats would be ideal, focusing on the few 'spells', shadow hand and diamond mind? 3: On which page is the entry about trading maneuvres up? |

You probably read Body Outside Body and thought that it'd be a good match, right? Know that it isn't, since that's a ridiculously high-level spell. I'll show you some alternatives soon. 1: Are there any ways to do this besides what I have suggested? Even factotum isn't enough I don't think. 1: Mystically opening locks 2: Create clones of himself that can fight 3: Being able to teleport away 4: Create shadows that make it harder to hit him 5: Elementally charging his weapons All of these are trivially simple with a bit of description. Even the second shifts around a bit, since having a clone that can fight isn't necessarily duplicating yourself with a completely separate set of actions - it could just be the description beside an area attack or similar. (For instance, see the Legion of Sentinels spell in the PHB2; it's an area attack that's originally described as a wall of soldiers. Same idea.) Here's some other examples that might help. 2: If I went with the arcane swordsage, besides shadow blade and adaptive style what sort of feats would be ideal, focusing on the few 'spells', shadow hand and diamond mind? Extra Readied Maneuver. Other than that, pick them to match his basic combat style (since Samurai Warriors is a beat-em-up, he's gotta have basic attacks, right?). 3: On which page is the entry about trading maneuvres up? In the paragraph describing how you learn maneuvers. Since the warblade uses similar text and happens to be available online, I'll quote from there.
