I have decided, for reasons I won't get into, that I'm going to play a Healer in my next campaign. I know the class is concidered underpowered, I know I could do the same and better with a Cleric, but I'm going to make a go of it. Campaign starts at lvl3, stats are 4d6 drop 1 reroll 1's, and all books plus this are allowed. The DM is very permissive, so if there's anything that can help make the class more fun and interesting to play, I'd love to hear it. Still, it's important to me to keep the character as nonviolent as possible. Goal - a character who lives up to the archetype of the Healer, but still has interesting and hopefully varied uses in and out of combat.

Character outline so far:

Human Healer 3 (Flaws: Noncombatant, shaky?)
Feats: Augment Healing, Spell Focus: Conj, Cloudy Conjuration, Skill Focus: Heal [b]

If you've already rolled your stats I'd reccomend that you post them so we can get a better idea. But I'd actually like to commend you for the Healer choice,it,to me,is a fun class to play even without multi-classing. People here gripe about how dumb the class is until they need one of it's abilities.

Well,an interesting thought would be Healer 3/Warlock 2/Eldritch Disciple 10/class you want 5

Take off the shacky trait,as you'll be using the eldritch blast alot. You'll get a decent attack, and if you really want to boost the damage. Take 3 lvls of Hellfire Warlock, and add 6d6 to that blast, sure you'll loose some healing ability, but the fact you can turn your eldritch blast into a healing blast for basically unlimited xd6 healing is cheese IMO.

Oops,I forgot,Healers don't get Turn Undead so they wouldn't qualify for Eldritch Disciple.

Edit:See if you can talk to your DM about removing the needing to be able to turn or rebuke undead since he's a lieniant guy. Not likely but worth a shot. Other wise I'd say Cleric 1/Healer 3/Warlock 2/Eldritch Disciple 10/Hellfire Warlock 3. And then just tack on another level of whatever you want.

take a level of cleric, get the 2 domains. then take the rest in droody levels. one domain gets you extend spell, another will get you (i think, i might be wrong)
load up on nightsticks
then grab divine metamagic extend, diving metamagic aug or something like that. anyway...you get fast healing to the whole party for idk...30+rounds?
augment healing. 2 points/level added. vigorous circle is level 6. fast healing 3 to whole party+12 points. so fast healing 15 to all party for 80 rounds at max caster level. can we say LOL?
i would almost say heighten the spell up to max level as well for longer duration at lower levels, if you even need it

Search for Healer in the forums.

A couple of us love the class and have posted a few really interesting builds and ideas for beefing the class...

...including using the Living Greyhawk rules for adding more spells et al.
