I'm playing a 1 on 1 10 session campaign with a friend in order to test how hard is it for a GM to counter stupidly optmized crap.
At the moment I'm playing a god wizard whoose build is going along these lines.
Conjurer 1 / Master Specialist 1 / Mindbender 1/ Incantatrix 3 / IofSF 7 / Incantatrix 10
I don't want to go into details how I pulled of various early entry crap.
My question for you lads is this.
Since I'm playing a god wizard I need at least one BSF/Cannon to kill off the crap I disable. So I'm looking for something that would act as my bodyguard with nifty special abilites. I wouldn't like to see Take a fighter response because, well, that's just boring.
So what can you do:
-28 point buy
-all books are ok
-it has to be able to withstand blows and deal a decent amount of damage
-it has the same HD / ECL as me at any given moment
-it should have various special abilites to cover many situations
So a few notes on what I want:
- Melee combatant
- I'd like to see ToB used here with some pointes which stances and manovuers are useful (mainly because I never used it)
-psion would be cool also never used them so a cool way to get to know them a bit
-Limited if any spellcasting
-A way to augment my casting (paragnostic initiate sounds cool, for at least one level anyways)
-A way to escape death.
What I wouldn't like to see:
-Any optmized CoDzilla build though it would fill the roll rather nice.
-Another wizard/sorc
-I don't want leadership
I really don't have anything special in mind which is a problem I agree. I wouldn't like a straight out fighter/barbarian I'd prefer something that has a nice trick to it instead of "I swing my axe yet again."
Anyways think optmized but not broken i.e. I don't want any infinity loops here, aim is to strain the GM and the player (since I'm basicly playing solo) and to see how far can you strain an optmized char before he breaks.

A hulking hurler that throws moons at people works, as does an ubercharger, or supermount.
A sample ubercharge build that I think is pretty interesting. Fighter 2/ (ignore Chaotic alignment somehow) Lion barb 1/ LE paladin 2/Frenzied Berserker 10/ Blackguard 2/ Hexblade 3.
Cha to saves 2X or 3X vs spells, and full attacks on a charge. Take the feat to reduce AC for power attack, and you should be dealing respectable damage every round.
Your best/cheesiest method. Whats your CL? Its above your current level correct? Gate something in with 2X your caster level. I will lowball your guess. CL 25 X2 = 50HD hulking hurler (or other build mentioned above). Also of note. Templates don't always add HD, find some ridicilus templates to add on. Then make your companion a 28PB ECL 23 bard who sings of how badass you are because you totally don't even need the companion.
If you are worried about DM fiat "it says no deal on the part of gate - It talks about how you need to make some sort of deal with them, but it then also talks about how you don't have to hold up your end, and it has to do its thing for you first.
Immediately upon completion of the service, the being is transported to your vicinity, and you must then and there turn over the promised reward. After this is done, the creature is instantly freed to return to its own plane. Failure to fulfill the promise to the letter results in your being subjected to service by the creature or by its liege and master, at the very least. At worst, the creature or its kin may attack you.
. So promise it something like "when I die, I will do [whatever it asks, make a deal that is just super awesome for them]" and then neglect to inform it you are immortal. Or something else you won't actually have to do, but it thinks you will have to.
If you are worried about DM fiat on the "you can't find one" - point out that there are specifically infinate layers of the abyss, populated by infinate demons. Just add the fiendish template to whatever you call.

I don't know about a way for him to escape death, but RadicalTaoist's Lester build might work for you.
