does anyone know of any possible way to become a lich before 11 lvl, or some other (low lvl) undead template that can be applied by/to oneself (i really want to abuse the corpsecrafter feats), necropolitan doesn't work cause of ritual. dm can't stop me cus storywise, this is why our bbed is so powerful:D

thanks in advance

At level 13 you can become a dry litch by using the build in my sig that is the quickest way I know without actually paying the LA to become a litch...

Bone Creature from the Book of Vile Darkness can be applied via Create Undead. You could apply it to yourself via a Contingency spell (or via the Create Contingent Spell feat), and having the Contingency trigger upon your death. You could cast the Contingency from a scroll to get earlier than normal access to the spell. You only need it once. :P

It is also possible to become a lich before level 11 by jacking your caster level up higher than normal (by being a kobold with all the crap that boosts your sorcerer level, for example), but since that is also a ritual, you shouldn't be able to apply the Corpsecrafter benefits there, either.

its not that its a ritual, its the fact that i'm not the one doing it, so lich works for corpsecrafter (according to my DM) because its a ritual that is done by just me, myself, and I. since that is so, would u be able to direct me to these kobold caster lvl increasing tricks pls?
anyway, thanks for your help

There was a thread on how to become a lich ASAP, but I didn't keep a link... I'll try finding it. (Edit: Here it is, archived: http://forums.gleemax.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-402793.html )

I can think of White Dragonspawn (LA +1 template, gives +1 sorcerer level, can be bought off) and there are two rituals that you can do as a kobold from an online web enhancement that add another +1 to your sorcerer level. Then there is a Loredrake something or other from Eberron that adds another +1. So that is a flat +3 to your sorcerer levels, including spells known.

You should also be able to boost your CL for just some types of spells, while lowering it for others, by taking feats, traits, etc. Technically that should work, but some DMs will probably veto it (and likely the previously mentioned kobold tricks, also).

Lore Drake gives a +2 and is from eberron. Dragonspawn gives a +1 with an LA of +1 if you are bound to the dragon. Free willed spawn get bumped up by +2 (annoying errata). This is from Dragonlance. Additionally the dragon lance bestiary has an dragonspawn abomination template for another +1 LA. It gives random effects, but can give another +2 caster levels. Heavy tole on your mental stats though.

The second ritual that you can perform requires you to be level 6. This is the only method listed that is Campaign setting free. There are also eberron rituals in one of the books where you sacrifice 2 constitution points to improve your necromancy caster level by 1. I believe you can do it right up to the point you run out of Con ;)

As PhaedrusXY mentioned, feats and abilities maybe able to boost your caster level since it is only a requirement for crafting the Phylactery. I see the things I was going to list are already in his link.

Oops, I found a few more problems.

Dragon spawn makes you a monsterous humaniod.

For loredrake to work, you have to get your DM to agree you are a true dragon. This is accomplished by the races of the dragon description of kobolds age category, but probably will require you to take the dragon wrought feat to pull it off. If you don't have the dragon type, it will be tough to claim yourself a true dragon.

Also you cannot be a dragon and get the dragonspawned template. You either have to get approval from your DM to have the applied dragon spawn template added before you get your level 1 feat, or get the template and retrain your level one feat to get dragonspawn afterwards.

It is possible though to just get the dragonwrough template at level 1, and take loredrake. With the ritual you would have a caster level high enough by 8th. Then retrain your level 1 feat just as you complete the phylachtery to remove your dragon type. This would really hurt though. Lossing 2 caster levels and putting on a LA+4 template all at once.

Oh yeah, I think you can become a dracolich alot earlier than a standard lich, through the dragonwrought kobold cheese. I think people were qualifying for that at insanely low levels like 1 or 3. I forget the prereqs, but it is from the Draconomicon.
