#1 m_nasrudin Aug 16, 2010 18:33:24	I am gonna be in a Pathfinder only game in a few weeks, and I'd like to run a gish. It's Pathfinder only, with an exception So right now, Pathfinder Campaign, Pathfinder core, Beastiary, and Advanced Player's Guide. We are allowed ONE non-core option, be it an alternate class feature, a class, or a feat. Picking a PrC that requires other non-core feats is a no go, as far as I've heard, but picking a class that GIVES new feats is acceptable, such as Swiftblade giving Bounding Assault. With that in mind, I'd like to try a gish, hopefully through a PrC that maybe lets me channel. I was thinking Duskblade/Wizard/Eldritch Knight, but I'm not so sure about that, as I wouldn't be able to wear armor, and I don't have access to anything but core spells for protection. Care to give me a little help? A build would be nice, but suggestions would be great. I'm not too concerned with race, but I'll let you know what's available to me Core Rulebook races, Aasimar, Tiefling, Tengu, Orc. Aasimar and Tiefling count as human for alternate favored class bonii. My stats are 18 16 15 13 12 12 Apparently my DM decided it was too powerful, so he axed it. No longer need this thread, but can't figure out how to delete. Decided on going Zen Archer from APG, if anyone has some suggestions for that.
#2 Senevri Aug 16, 2010 21:17:39	How's your Pathfinder-fu? PF has it's version of arcane strike, and a swift action ability to ignore up to 20% spell failure - plenty in mithril armor.  That being said, I would cautiously recommend either dragon disciple or arcane archer over Eldritch Knight, which I just find underwhelming, still.  Dragon Disciple loses 1 CL for 4 levels at medium BAB, d12 HD and +4 STR, +2 nat AC. Not bad.  With PF's Wizard Specialization, Focused Specialist is extra tasty. PF Bestiary has playable Aasimar and Tiefling already, I think.  Wait, so APG's in? There's a ton of new options there, I don't even know all of them.  Still, your one non-core pick is probably the most powerful one. Maybe Abjurant Champion? Though, that's weak... Ugh.
