Hi there, dear optimizers,

as stated above, I need help!

Basically, it's just another request for Gestalt help and for me it's a Level 30 Player vs Player duel.

The normal rules apply, except two things: 1. No epic spells (level 10+ is ok but no Epic ones)

2. Maybe it is stated in the rules anyways but you cannot gain more than one effective level in a class per leve gained (for example, you couldn't take wizard and archmage to gain two effectife wizard levels), neither can you take feats that allows to stack the levels of classes to increase any class ability (like Daring Outlaw)

I already thought about a rakshasa sorcerer (the one from savage species) on one side but I'm open for every idea.

Thanks in advance for your help!

not sure exactly what you are looking for as far as build goes but for PvP something like

cleric/wizard with some things like incantrix and other helpfull abbillities thrown in cant go wrong exspecially if you burn a feat or two for weapon proffiencies and go with a gish esque build off of divine power

OK, just skip to the endgame and think about the kill mechanism. There were a bunch of threads a long time ago about this.

Victim: trapped in a Forcecage and Antimagic Cone from a Beholder (which you or an assistant is Shapechanged into). A deadly substance (be it acid, lava, holy water, poison, or whatever) is poured down from above. This substance needs to be mundane, no save can be offered against the damage, and it must be poured into the Forcecage. Or float above the cage and put it in a big stone bowl, then pour the substance down into it.

There is no way out, so you win.

Then set up the kill mechanism: this involves getting your Time Stop off first. So do everything to both go first and have the means available to set up the trap, so maybe an Elven Generalist with the hummingbird familiar and familiar bonus doubling ACF, Eager Quarterstaff of Warning, Shapechanged into something helpful, Nerveskitter up, etc. Win initiative and announce Time Stop, opponent announces Celerity, you announce your Celerity, this triggers his Contingent Celerity, which triggers your contingent Celerity. By the time your action is over, he's in the kill mechanism.

Of course, your fellow players and DM might not enjoy being brought to the table to experience this.

P.S. Don't forget your Shrink Item iron hat. Watch out for anyone wearing a big iron shoe!

Well, if it was that easy, I wouldn't have asked.

Unfortunately, it's a little bit harder.

At level 30 there are a lot of things one could do to prevent this, beginning at immunities. And seriously, a level 30 character needs a whole lot of acid to go down.

Maybe I misstated that but it really is just a one-on-one battle.

And, if anyone thought it, it is not a mage-only Battle and my friend is not likely to play a Full caster.

Finally, your Method would be just boring... I once had a PvP with him before and I killed him right in the first round... It took him about one year to agree for a rematch.

....At level 30, that's how it would go down. Or you're just...not trying. If you take casting out of the equation, things become much different. Oh, wait, no. They don't. You win initiative, the other person dies. Or... you're just not trying.

Well, not really...

Everything you do can be countered by other things.

As i know him, he would expect me to play a magic-user so.... anybody got other Ideas that do not rely on castings?

Actually, it's not true that everything can be countered. Unless your opponent has the forethought to play a creature that can escape from a Forcecage without magic, or prepares a special teleportation with the Invoke Magic feat, there's no answer in the game to a Forcecage + Beholder Antimagic Cone. Not that I know of, anyway, so please enlighten me.

A good while ago there were also some Charisma-synergy builds with Evasion+Mettle, really good saves and AC, that might work if you'd care to win the old fashioned way.

I have just imagined...

What do you think about a Rakshasa Sorcerer 30 / Monk 30

I was thinking about a grappling caster with three times Automatic still spell... I could cast spells in Grapple and still deny my opponent his actions...

Is this a good Idea? What do you  think?

An extremely high escape artist can get you out. (upwards of 80 However, between 33 ranks, 33 effective ranks for item familiar, dexterity, and brains over brawn this is easily doable even without items by lvl 30.

An adamantine cone shrank (via Shrink Item) into a pointy hat. As soon as the AMF hits it, his "hat" unshrinks into a giant cone that covers him. This blocks Line of Effect for the AMF. Then he casts a spell and escapes.
