| #1zironicApr 26, 2008 10:38:40 | I'm a bit of a newbie DM playing with two newbie friends of mine. I let them start at lvl 5 because I don't really like lvl 1 and I thought they could do with some extra 'omph'. So they rolled a lvl 3 Drow fighter and a lvl 5 human necromancer(Basically a sorcerer that can only cast necromancy spells and various bonuses to do that) Anyhow, we've played two fairly long sessions over a weekend and now they've fought their way to lvl 8 and the drow decided to get himself the leadership feat. So now I need to design a fitting lvl 6 cohort that should hopefully help balance out this very dps heavy but very fragile party (The drow is running around with a two handed bastard sword and thinks shields are for sissies). The obvious choice would be to give them a cleric with the only problem being that evil clerics don't seem to have access to spontaneous healing. What seems to be a good option is a cleric with the Evil and War domains built around supporting the necromancer, by using zombies and other undeads as meatshields the cleric suddenly have quite a lot of healing from the inflict spells. What I'm seeking is some help to build a strong lvl 6 Lawfull evil elf cohort to assist this party and how should it progress when it comes to spells/feats. I prefer using as few books as possible and generally avoid weird multi classes. The character isn't meant to steal the glory of the PC's, just assist them. Here are the starting stats: Name: Cea Ganatea Race: Elf Alignment: Lawfull Evil Stats: 18, 17,16,16,15,14 (Yes she was very lucky when using the top 3 of 5d6) Id really appreciate help since I'm not that profficient with the rules yet :=) I also wouldn't mind some tips when it comes to what feats the Drow Fighter should pick(2 handed Bastard Sword fighting) since both me and the player can't seem to find that many useful feats. Edit: After finding out about the Gestalt rule in Unearthed Arcana I've decided to use it to make the party more balanced for their level due to being so few. |
