| #1keytapJul 30, 2009 9:17:55 | I'm attempting to build a dexterity-based two-weapon fighter that relies more on fighting defensively and having a ridiculously high AC to stay alive in combat long enough to outmaneuver his foes. So far I'm looking to construct this using the rogue, tempest, thief-acrobat, and duelist classes. A few things I know I want: a means to deal damage not based on my weapon (i.e. sneak attack, sudden strike, something similar), Improved Evasion, stacking dodge bonuses from features that work when I fight defensively, and to be a Halfling. My stats at level 20 will be as follows. Str 10 Dex 30 Con 14 Int 14 Wis 14 Cha 10 What do you think? I know this is probably not the perfect concept as far as DPR and whatnot goes, but using this general outline for a character, what's the best you can come up with? |

Something like Swashbuckler 3/ (Fighter 2, Scout 2, Barbarian 2, Warblade 2) / Dervish 10 / (Tempest 5, Warblade 5, Scout 3-7, etc.) Really, Swash 3/Scout 2/Dervish 10/Scout 3-7 would do fairly well. If you're using flaws, this just got better. It's main downside is that you don't get to actually pick your feats until 6, due to the dervish requirements. One level of swordsage would qualify you for Shadow Blade, as well, which would give dex to damage with a handful of weapons. |

| #5aethernoxJul 30, 2009 15:55:42 | Right. Push things back one level, then. I don't play scouts often, and most of my dervish builds try for CoCL or maneuvers, rather than skirmish damage. |

| #7mervin_magnusJul 30, 2009 17:53:04 | Here is a list on how to amp up ur AC: CON: Deepwarven (it's a prc, at level 2 you gain Con mod to AC) Fist of the Forest (another prc, same as Deepwarven, but at level 1) INT: Bladesinger (prc, level 1 gain Int to AC) Invisible Blade (prc, level 1 gain Int to AC) Kung Fu Genius (feat, makes monk AC Int based instead of Wis based) WIS: Monk (base class, level 1) Swordsage (same as monk, but level 2) CHA: Arcane Duelist (prc, Cha to AC at level 2) Wendigo (disease template, Cha to AC) Don't look to me when it comes to stacking (just check the "type" of AC bonus) Plus, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other ways to amp up your AC |

| #9thebigstupidfighterJul 30, 2009 21:13:47 | Here is a list on how to amp up ur AC: No. No no no no no. The Monk and Swordsage abilities don't stack, i don't know about the rest but I'm assuming they work on the same mechanic, and thus would also not work. |
| #10WyvernhandJul 31, 2009 12:31:33 | Halfling Unarmed Swordsage20 Stats Wis > Dex > Con > Str > Int > Cha Adaptive Style Snap Kick Desert Wind Dodge Mobility (feat or armor) Elusive Target Martial Study: Wall of Blades Combat Expertese Main stance probably Pearl of Black Doubt, using stuff like Baffling Defense and Wall of Blades to counter incoming attacks that would normally hit you and increase your AC even more. Clinging Shadows and other manevuers give you miss chance which increase your AC even more with Pearl. Snap Kick means that you are basically fighting with both hands, even though you don't have two "weapons". Damage comes from Full Attack + Boosts (like X Blade that add fire to hits) or from standard action strikes like Insightful Strike, X Mountain Hammer, or X Nightmare Blade. Done and done. |
