| #1AeodahnApr 09, 2014 9:51:15 | Starting up a new game. The story setting involves us all being dwarves. We were part of a team assigned to an airship with a dimensional gateway that escapes a doomed realm and ends up crashed and stranded on a semi primitive world. The local populace is going to end up mistaking us for gods. The dm has decided to use the norse pantheon and randomly determined which god he would like the players to try and replicate. I drew Thor. I am hoping the fine minds here can help me with this. Build rules: -all books are fair game. -80 points to assign as desired amongst the six stats. Not an 80 point buy...a flat 80 to use however. -he has approved arctic dwarf from unearthed arcana. -powerful build is selectable as a feat. -characters are gestalt and start at level 5. -one flaw and one trait allowed. -he will allow me to trade two disciplines from warblade for access to devoted Spirit. I was thinking stone dragon and tiger claw. -headlong rush is not orc specific. I can take it Ideas so far: -barbarian 1 ranger 4 on one side. In his game he has a spelless ranger that gets fighter feat progression and wild empathy can be swapped for a feat as well. I would take this side into bloodstorm blade for 4 levels after this. Thinking warblade on the other side with the aforementionex access to devoted spirit. Since I can take powerful build I was considering something like knockdown and knockback using a lot of thicket of blades and maybe standstill to keep things at bay while still hitting hard with ranged power attacking charges. Not sure I can fit all this into a build. Another tempting tidbit is karmic strike. A long standing house rule eliminates the dodge pre req in favor of combat expertise. He doesnt like that a feat requiring you to get hit has a feat focused on not getting hit as a requisite. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated. Help me build Thor. |

PS. 80 points of stats may not be "PB 80" but will equate to something in the mid to upper 30s which is pretty good. Gestalt of course is just added power.

Hell I have even been toying with the idea of artificer to make my own and some handy infusions. He isnt exactly letting us create gods. We are going to be mistaken for them. We are stranded in a bronzeage world with gear from a much more advanced one. Its effectively a 'coincdence' that we will have similarities to the gods they worship. |
| #4KruskApr 10, 2014 14:22:05 | Marvel Thor, or Norse Thor? They are pretty different? |
| #5AeodahnApr 10, 2014 14:58:58 | Norse for sure. |
| #6KruskApr 11, 2014 14:14:02 | So probably druid or cleric. I'm gonna go druid.
Thor. Human Druid 5. Animal companion - Tanngrisnir, a goat. (Animal companion advancement as a druid) Str > Con > Dex > Cha > Wis > Int (16, 14, 14, 12, 10, 8 for 28 normal PB) Using your method maybe 20 Str, 18 Con, 14, Dex, 12 Cha, 8 Int, 8 Wis Feats - Irrelavent. Alternative Class Features - Doesn't wildshape. Gets a second companion, Tanngnjóstr
Items of Note Mew Mew

| #8KruskApr 12, 2014 7:38:16 | No, i just threw it out as a thing I'd think most DMs would be cool with. If not, point out how ridicilus good wildshape is, and how your goat companions are optimized in any way and you mostly use them to pull a sweet cart.
If gestalt, warblade into bloodstorm is exactly where I'd take it. |
