help me make a hulking hurler

Jul 27, 2010 22:23:16 my group is getting ready to run a 3.5 campaign and I really want to build a hulking hurler character. the requirment for becoming a war hulk is to be a large or larger creature. we arnt allowed any lvl adjustments, so are there any large creatures without lvl adjustment I could use?

Jul 28, 2010 3:22:18 You can be the Incredible Hulk instead.

Do it like so:
1. convince your DM to allow the class, despite not PERMANENTLY being large. This just means you lose all the class abilities when you're not.
2. Get Enlarge or that Goliath barbarian ACF)( or was iu racial sub? ) which makes them large when raging.
3. Add War Hulk to the mix. You're a relatively weedy guy normally, but enemies won't like you when you're angry. ( and non-permanent No Time To Think is funny. )

Okay, no LA so goliath is a problem. Hm. Any race + few levels of Psychic Warrior.

So... Human with max WIS, PsyWar 4, Barbarian 2, War Hulk 10, Hulking Hurler 3, and let's say Warblade 1.

BAB +9, STR... starting at base... say, 14, we go to +30 while enlargened and raging. Pick Practiced Manifester to go Huge, so that's 32. standard gear and levels add another +16 to a total of 48 STR, meaning your medium load at Huge is... 12800lbs. Dealing 1d6 damage for each 200 pounds, or 64 dice. Kinda piddly without rapid shot or something.

Arcana Unearthed (not Unearthed Arcana) has a +0 LA race called giant that is initially medium, but becomes large upon taking the 3rd level of the racial paragon class. This is not published by Wizards of the Coast though.

Jul 28, 2010 12:00:14 I can use any books I want as long as its a wizards product. I figured I would just have to find a way around it by cross classing 2 or 3 times.

Jul 29, 2010 10:23:40 1) Be a gnome (any race actually works, but gnome is particuarly funny and the Con bonus is nice).

2) Take Stoneblessed, applied to Goliath. Congrats. You now count as a goliath.

3) Take the first goliath barbarian substitution level. Now you go from being a small gnome to being a large (something) whenever you rage.

4) Take War Hulk.

5) You'll want to take Extra Rage at least once also, to make sure you can turn into the uber-gnome as often as needed.
