| #1iliketrainsApr 23, 2013 14:57:12 | I know these kinds of things have been asked a million times already, but I've searched these forums and haven't found an answer that specifies my exact requirements (or I haven't been looking hard enough, take your pick). There this bet, you see, about who can create the fastest character possible in ONE round. I wanted to... optimize my chances of winning (that was terrible, I know). So, I have to create a 3.5 character with the highest possible speed in ONE round. No preparation or anything like what happened with Chuck E Cheese or the like. I could really use either a link to a relevant thread where this has already been done, or any build or help whatsoever. I've seen people here turn characters into gods, this shouldn't be a challenge. The limitations are simple enough: Character level 20 Each ability has a score of 25 Spending limit of 3 million gold Anything and everything from 3.5 is permitted, but obviously no homebrew I've already seen some useful basic feats, abilities and spells elsewhere that I could use, like fast movement, run, expeditious retreat and all that, but I want something that efficiently uses all that, and I'm terrible at efficiency. Also, if it's at all possible, I'd like something that doesn't use absurd juggling of feats and classes and outside sources. Also no instant travel or wish-like spells. Make it basic but effective. Thanks a lot, I really need help. |

| #3KruskApr 23, 2013 17:53:35 | race and class stub. I note important feats. Longtooth shifter Class = Druid 20 (Druidic Avenger and Hunter variants both from UA) Feats
Traits - Quick Items -
Speed - 50 (While shifted) + 10 barb + 60 Monk + 5 Dash + 10 Quick + 10 Speed of thought = 145 ft/move action. There are probably some awesome spells and Items you can get too, but I didn't put a lot of effort into this. Might give a stub for you though. Also, its running, not flying or swimming. |

| #5Slagger_the_ChuulApr 24, 2013 4:07:44 | Do they have to move under their own power, or are mounts and whatnot valid? At the more bizarre end of the scale, the Locate City Bomb involves extremely high-speed travel, albeit with the slight drawback of death. |

| #7aelryinthMay 02, 2013 17:29:58 | Well, Centipede tattoo from tattooed monk will win any base 1 round contest...is there a feat to get a tattoo from OA? spells...travel devotion does something for speed, as I remember, and there's a spell or two that does the same. Chuck E makes use of the one that subs a speed bonus for a speed burst... Scratch that, wouldn't you start by transforming into a quickling? ==Aelryinth |
| #8RogerWilcoMay 06, 2013 5:26:12 | Does it have to be a run speed or can it also be a fly speed? Otherwise Shapechange/Polymorph into a Dragon of some kind (assuming < 21 HD) already gets you 150 ft movement, and there are plenty of spells and feats to boost that. Belt of battle can give you 3 more move actions. Wind Walk has a very high speed, but you need to take 5 rounds to turn into a cloud first, so is probably not what you're looking for. There are also these shadow mounts you can summon that are pretty fast. I think the Druid one is faster than the Wizard one. Phantom Steed has 240 base movement, I think the Druid one is called Phantom Stag. There might feats that apply templates to your summons that boost this? |
| #9CakerMay 08, 2013 9:18:32 | Does persist footsteps of the divine still work? Or did they errata that? If not, you gain about 136 Miles/Round movespeed for one round. EDIT: yea this was erratad how could i forget that. ignore this |
| #10The_FredMay 11, 2013 8:27:50 | Swiftblade swift-cast Innervated Speed? Or just bog-standard Time Stop, to be honest. Then run for 5x as long as everyone else, in the same amount of time! |
