| #1brutticusAug 16, 2012 21:22:50 | Iv been playing a human paladin 4/ Knight of the Raven 1 in a ravenloft game. my innitial thought was to take two levels in fighter and four in pious templar before finishing in KotR for a primarily martial character. my question is thusly: Should i take a level of Divine crusader first? This would give me a full casting progression based on Charisma. So it would be paladin 4/ knight of the raven 1/ fighter 2/ divine crusader 1 before i finish up in KoTR. (mixing in levels of templar in somewhere) My one concern is that Id be giving up 1 BAB and a bonus feat, but i gain a full spell progression. Is this plan sound? |

And Im not sure that he would beleive that character would take levels in it (its an immensely RP heavy game). Sir Hugh has been established as a knight in shining armor who hates undead. Its too bad, i was looking at Bone knight earlier tonight and its incredibly cool I did know Pious Templar gives me a seperate progression; however i was under the impression that the divine crusader progression ends at 10th level anyways. How do further caster levels interact with that progression? |

There arent very many LG deities in Ravenloft, so the DM suggested her. Sir Hugh is not native to Ravenloft (the mist stops at a certain point, and there are those who are from lands beyond it.) |

A LG paladin can actually still use almost all of the class features (there's a thread in which Tempest_Stormwind explained it, but it's nigh impossible to find from a phone. All that has to happen is that your pally comes to the realization that it's easier to fight/destroy/deal with the undead by becoming more like them. Note that the class doesn't actually change your creature type. Another option would be the Grey Guard from Complete Scoundrel. And there are a couple of Pelor-based PrCs in Complete Cheatyface... er, Champion. Or you could take some levels in Rogue and go Shadowbane Inquisitor (Complete Adventurer). That last is possibly the worst option, though. |
