I'm building a Graygurd Paladin (I have 20 lvls for that) and I want to max my lay on hands to use it with devasting touch from the Graygurd.

My build so far is:
Saint Half Celestial Human Paladin-5, Garygurd-5 & White Knight-4
with 46 cha [18(base)+3(ability increment from HD)+2(old age)+6(cloak of cha)+5(tome of influence)+4(saint)+8(half celestial variant approved by my DM)]
With the divine spirit (from Dungeonscape), hands of a healer feat (book of exalted deeds) and the unicorn pendant (magic item compendium) i got to a total of 945 points of lay on hands.

If some one can top that i will be glad to know how.
Also if someone have an idea how to better use this crazy cha, plz tell (leadership feat is forbidden ).

Thank you in advance for any help with my build

Apart from the fact that you appear to be using homebrew material, it can easily be topped.

Can you show me how?
Becuse I thought about this character for some time now and this is the best I can do, and I will glad to get even higher lay on hands .

So, your Cha for Lay on Hands is 46 + 4 (unicorn pendant) + 2 (hands of the healer) = 52 (modifier=21)
Paladin 5 + Grey Guard 5 + White Knight 4 + Blessed Touch 1=15

21*15=315
315*2 (Spirit of Healing) = 630

Did you add Blessed Touch at the end with Spirit of Healing? Because that's just broken. Also, to get 945 you'd have to add it into your paladin levels AND at the end. Your math amuses me, and I'd like to see how you got 945.

Also, without saint and with two more levels of paladin instead...

So, your Cha for Lay on Hands is 42 + 4 (unicorn pendant) + 2 (hands of the healer) = 48 (modifier=19)
Paladin 7 + Grey Guard 5 + White Knight 4 + Blessed Touch 1=17

19*17=323
323*2 (Spirit of Healing) = 646

It appears Saint isn't worth the LA for Lay on Hands purposes. Unless you use LA buyoff, or course.

If there was a way to multiclass freely with paladin, or even with just one other class, I think you could fit tattooed monk for Bellflower Tattoo, add Cha mod to Cha :D

EDIT: IGNORE THE STUFF WITH THE BAT! I FORGOT IT WAS WISDOM NOT CHARISMA! I AM FOOLISH!

But yeah, Paladin levels still beats out Saint. Pretty much always, for purely Lay on Hands related stuff.

EDIT 2: I HAVE REMOVED BAT RELATED COMMENTS!
Also, who needs to freely multiclass with Paladin. It just says you can't take it again. So what? Take the prestige classes. Tattooed Monk ho!

I think I'll have to make another post with the tattooed monk build, this one is getting crowded...

Paladin 1
Paladin 2
Paladin 3
Paladin 4
Paladin 5
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 1
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 1/White Knight 1
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 1/White Knight 2
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 1/White Knight 3
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 1/White Knight 4
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 2/White Knight 4
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 3/White Knight 4
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 4/White Knight 4
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 5/White Knight 4
Paladin 5/Grey Guard 5/White Knight 4/Tattooed Monk 1

Then finish one of the Prestiges or something.

You get:

CHA: 18 (Base) + 5 (Hit Dice) + 5 (Tome) + 2 (Age) + 6 (item) = 36 (Mod = +13)

With Tattoo 30 + 13 = 43 cha, with a modifier of 16

Add feats and items (+6) 49 cha, modifier of 19

19 (effective paladin levels) + 1 (Blessed Touch) = 20

20*19=380

380*2 (Spirit of Healing)= 760 hp

In general, Paladin levels are better than LA for Lay on Hands. Of course, your build may be better overall as you also get your (higher) cha mod to saves. Bear in mind also, Tattoo only lasts one round, so use it, then nova!
(Tattoo gains you 60 hp for Lay on Hands, so just use the tattoo, then use the 60 you just gained)

Oh, btw, with LA buyoff, Saint and Half-Celestial work wonders. They have great synergy with tattooed monk.

Tnx, the tattooed monk is a good idea!

And about the math, if i don't mistaken the spirit as twice lay on hands then you, so your lay on hands(X) + the spirit lay on hands(2X) = three times your lay on hands (3X).
