Good old PI, always helping us out.

Yes, there is the sureal's handy links that is a sticky at the top of each page, you should check it out, that is what my less tactful but always liked friend meant to say.

As for archer builds, please elaborate a bit more, several builds are on circulation in the forum.

the swift hunter is a build that focuses on skills and precision damage, it is a very good one.

Arcane archer/abjurant champion is more if you want to have some spell ability

Divine archer is an amazing build coupling archer with cleric spells, devastating.

Finally my favorite is the gatling bowgun (DUH) witch focuses mainly on doing a ******ad of damage to your targets throught the use of warblade levels.

That is by no means limited to that, but maybe if you could post a base idea of what you want and go read the ultimate archers handbook and the swift hunters handbook it will help you out a bit too ;)

22/7 = Pi, the number, so that would be you.

it's quite alright, my first posts we're much more catastrophic.

so it sounds like your best bet is either a swift hunter or the gatling bowgun.

at level 6, I'd say the swift hunter is your best bet, it deals more damage I think.

Althought a Fighter 4/Warblade 2 would have some nice maneuvers and weapon spec to booth. A hard choice indeed.

Not really.
First of all, it's hard to understand you. See how I'm capitalizing, typing, and not using freaking anime smileys? It's not that hard. You can do it, too.

Try typing in separate sentences and even paragraphs.

Next, you're giving us no information beyond "archer build plzthx, lololololol!!111one".

-What books do you have/can you use?
-Any relevant house rules (or ignoring of stupid rules)? For example, will your DM impose the 20% XP penalty for multiclassing wrong, or not?
-Try building one yourself, put the build in your post. It gives us something to correct and it's good practice.

Alright, this is what I'd do.

Take 6 levels, of Soul Knife, from the expanded Psionics handbook.

Then forget about playing an Archer. Then you can use the Soul knife and Just he has an AMAZING ability! He can throw his summoned weapon much like that of an archer using an arrow. And He can summon another! You never have to worry about a quiver or arrows again!!

Soul Knife = Best class ever.

No, I think he might really enjoy, going into the "Soul bow" prestige class.

Ok, I'll give you a build I like:

Cleric 6.
Arguably Ranger 2/Cleric 4, but then only advance Cleric. Take Zen Archery as Lvl 3 feat, or Lvl 1 with ranger. Don't be good and get unlimited strength once you can cast (Greater) Consumptive Field. Get a bow with unlimited mighty option.

Another build, which is a bit less cheesy and also fun (and you have to be human or changeling):

Ranger2/Fighter2/Warblade1 OR Rogue1 OR Cleric (cloistered, maybe, with undeath and planning domains for cheese)1/Chameleon1

Dex as main stat, Int at least 12. At some point you can be a main martial character, cast 6th level arcane and divine spells (BUFFS, even persisted, with Cleric) and you can rock.

try this:

look here:
Some handy links for CO work.... then look down to these links:

Archery (etc):
[thread=947687]The Ultimate Archer Handbook[/thread] - (by carnivore)
[thread=183604]KSB Snow Owl's archer builds[/thread] - (by ksbsnowowl) Mostly 3.0, but good info for all archery builds.
[thread=600024]Tsuyoshi's Archer Addendum[/thread] - (by tsuyoshikentsu)
[thread=479388]3.5 Archer Builds[/thread]
[thread=599841]A crossbower to rival an archer?[/thread] some decent discussion on making good use of the crossbow

Arcane Archer (DMG):
[thread=468623]The Arcane Archer Optimization Thread[/thread] - (by Marcus Majarra)
[thread=951217]Arcane Archer: +20 BAB & 20th lvl Caster[/thread] - (by carnivore) leads to discussions

personally i would suggest something like this .... CORE only:

Human
Ranger 6

32 point buy:

10 Str
17 Dex(16+1 lvl)
14 Con
14 Int
14 Wis
10 Cha

Feats:
Quickdraw(human Bonus)
Track(ranger bonus)
Rapid Shot(ranger bonus)
Endurance(ranger bonus)
Many Shot(ranger Bonus)
Point Blank Shot
Precise Shot
Weapon Finnesse ..... since you are focusing on Archery, might as well be ready for melee is needed

Favored Enemies:
Magical beast
Monstrous humanoid

this will give you :[indent]
great saves
great Skills
good combat abilities
good hp
versatility[/indent]

very simple and fun to play

While that all that is certainly true, what is clearly missing is: DAMAGE.

Frankly, Warmage 6.

Seriously, with Warmage's edge and fun spells like scorching ray, this will probably be better than any "normal" archer. Not having access to utility spells certainly makes it not a wizard by any stretch although you can still use eternal wands. You can even wear armor with no spell failure!

I second the Human Ranger 2/Fighter 4 build. Advance Ranger Further or find a nice PrC (Stay away for Initiate of the Bow Order) You might like Horizon Walker for a solid (nor spectacular) base.

Basic skills are covered and a nice amount of feats to play around.

1 Point Blank Shot
1 Weapon Focus (Comp Longbow)
1 Track
2 Rapid Shot
3 Improved Initiative
3 Precise Shot
4
6
6 Weapon Specilization (Comp Longbow)

Fav Enemy: Depends on your campaign and DM
Undead are a good choice.

Dex is not everything, a good str keeps up the damage rather well.

Other feats include:

Power attack (you never know)
Manyshot
Improved Rapid Shot
Improved Precise Shot

Or try the Dodge, Mobility, Shot on the run, Elusive Target line.

damage is not missing.... it can be added in many ways:

additional Feats
Magic(Weapon Enhancements)
Magic(Stat boosting items)
Magic(Spells to boost output .... Ranger Spells)
Misc Magic items(bracers of Archery)

this gives a Simple, Versatile character that will help ANY Party at this level(6th) .... since to quote the OP.." i never played with archers "... he will be able to Learn how with this build

the main way to do Damage with Archery is "To Make Sure Every Shot Hits the Target"

as a side note ..... Armonts idea of a Soul Bow is not that bad.... but it is better for an Advanced Player

Human

Ranger 2/ Soulknife 2/ Monk 1/ Soulbow 1

Stats:

32 point buy:

10 Str
14 Dex
14 Con
14 Int
17 Wis(16+1 lvl)
10 Cha

Feats:
Zen Archery(human Bonus)
Track(ranger bonus)
Rapid Shot(ranger bonus)
Weapon Focus (mind blade) (Soulknife bonus)
Wild Talent(Soulknife bonus)
Monastic Training(Soulbow)(monk Bonus)
Psionic Shot(Soulbow Bonus)
Point Blank Shot
Intuitive Attack
Tashalatora(Soulbow)

Wis to Attack(Ranged or Unarmed)
Wis to Damage(Ranged)
Wis to AC

continue Soulbow....like this:

Ranger 2/ Soulknife 2/ Monk 1/ Soulbow 10

Unarmed Damage and Greater Flurry as Monk 11th

or better yet:

Ranger 4/ Soulknife 4/ Monk 4/ Soulbow 8

Great BAB, Saves, Archery Skills..... everything based on Wis, including great Detection(Spot and Listen)

It's basically for self-satisfaction, I guess. Probably Carnivore will just flat out explode from build-generation-overpressure if he can't post a few builds a day .

Plus the OP will have to live with having to play a build he never put an ounce of thought into.

Except with Spell Resistance, Range, AMF-operationality and number of attacks. Other than that, Warmage is better, and even loses out to some Swift Hunter (and matured Gatling Gun)-builds in damage unless Arcane Thesised. Oh yeah, and archers frankly don't mind energy immunities. Oh, and they can improve their damage with enhanced weapon. Warmage's advantage over non-gish archers is in the fact that he has non-damage spells; he'll never be very good in hitting things.

Swift hunter is very good at level 6, that's when they get improved skirmish.
