| #1SnuffulupicusJun 16, 2014 22:57:04 | Okay so the DM has this weird system of achievement points and being able to buy access to books and what-not, so I only have access at this point to PHB (3.5), DMG, MIC, Tome of Battle, Arms and Armor Revised, and Complete Adventurer. I am going for a twf that can stand his own against pretty much anything (high survivability is highly needed). The current build is Warblade only levels and I intend to keep with the single class. It is currently: Level: 6 Warblade Race: Human Stats: Str-19, Dex-18, Con-17, Int-16, Wis-13, Cha-10 Weapons: +1 Schiavana Swords (Serrated, Laminated, Adamantine, and Forceful I [I intend to get all 3 Forceful enchantments]) Armor: +1 Adamantine, Rigid, Breastplate of Grace (+7) Feats: TWF, Weapon Focus, Improved Uncanny Dodge (class feature), Endurance (bonus feat so I could sleep in my armor= better equipped for ambushed), Oversized TWF (the swords are not light weapons), and Improved TWF. Schools: Tiger Claw, and Stone Dragon Maneuvers: Soaring Raptor Strike, Bone Crusher, Rabid Wolf Strike, Claw at the Moon, Mountain Hammer, Moment of Perfect Mind, Leaping Dragon Stance, and Hunter's Sense (thinking about changing that though hasn't proved too useful yet).
I would appreciate suggestions on what future maneuvers to get or feats or books to try to unlock, oh and weapon enchantments too. Thank you ahead of time.

We've also discussed Forceful a few months ago. As I said then, "Quite frankly, I wouldn't do this. Increasing die sizes only gives you +1 average damage per die. At any level where you'd be able to afford this sort of weapon - and for several levels before that - the main source of your damage is not going to be the size of your weapon, but rather the Power Attack feat."
Knowing now that you're doing TWF, I still stand by it - you'd be better off replacing the Forceful abilities with Keen and Collision.
One reason I riff on third party developers is because they often don't develop. There's a reason why, for instance, there's no "+1 die size" ability in any WotC book, but there are plenty of "deal damage as if one size larger" abilities - it's because size scaling can proceed indefinitely, while die scaling cannot (what happens to a Forceful greataxe? The next die size above d12 is d20.) I don't know what "Laminated" or "Serrated" (or "rigid" or "grace") do, but I bet they're similarly problematic. Likewise for the base stats of such a weapon. As a result, I think you wasted an unlock on a third-party book.
I STRONGLY suspect that regular old kukris will dramatically outperform the monstrosities you're trying to wield. The strength of warriors in 3.5 is not their weapons, but rather themselves. You shouldn't look at weapon enhnacements as a central part of your character, and instead should look at them like garnish. You wouldn't eat a whole plate of parsley.
Anyway.

Throw on Adamantine and the value skyrockets and that even ignoring all the other stuff. Oh, I was also thinking ONE sword instead of two. Speaking of swords that "Schiavana Sword" sounds a lot like various homebrew/munchkin Katanas you see around including the DnD Wiki.
When it comes to building characters one does NOT need even "better" (as in PB 30+!) stats to make a good character and basic core equipment should be all you need. True the MIC can get the magic up to level but most of the time magic items should NOT be an essential part of some character's build.

I also am getting most of my damage at this point from my maneuvers, taking your suggestion and trying to put weapon damage at the lower end of the priority list, (though currently with my build as is I have 4 attacks +15/+10/+5/+0 and the swords do 2D6 each) I got those enchantments for free basically for successfully killing a couple of "unkillable" NPC's the DM challenged me with.
I chose Oversized TWF as a way to boost my Attack Bonus as it lessens the penalties for using a 1H Weapon in my off hand (same with the TWF chain).
Serrated and Laminated are from the Mercenaries campaign setting and they just increase threat range by one and the multiplier by one and do not add to the +X of the weapon, (all approved by the DM).
The armor is some I scavenged from my previous character after he was obliterated by 4 LVL 10 characters at once being a lvl 5 himself, this is basically a remake of that character as my DM was a little remmorseful at the severe beating he put me through.
And yes the Ability Scores were rolled with 4D6 drop the lowest 6 I think so he could justify upping the difficulty of this campaign.
On a side note: now considering dual weilding 2 deck brushes lol.
P.S. I feel like Power attack at this point would make too many things un-hitable as he has started throwing bigger bad guys at us rather than multiple little guys.
If I missed a point I apologize somebody smashed my glasses at work the other day and its hard to concentrate on the type.
As always thanks for the patience with my poor builds and the continued assistance. |

That said you need to be able to push really high attack bonus's for this to be feasable and if you can do that you've likely got better uses for the feat still. |
