| #1flawless_pJul 04, 2009 15:14:49 | I started teaching my sister how to play DnD last week and she made a half elf wizard as I knew she would.....It's just something about all the girls I know and half elf wizards, I dunno. Anyhow, we decided to keep it a small game just me her and two friends, for the following party. Lawful Good Dwarf Cleric w/ Protection and Earth Domains True Neutral Half Elf Wizard Spell Focus Necromancy (My Character)Chaotic Good Human Fighter 2/Barbarian 2 Neutral Good Kobold Rogue I didn't take character creation all that seriously with my guy but so far I like him, we decided to play the game out like a tv show, with the same characters tackling episodes, something akin to scooby doo. So as soon as I our DM likened it to scooby I ran off into the forrest to find a worg.(Got one now I call him Scooby and I carry around Jerky for Scooby snacks.) Ok that was quite a tagent, my question is two fold. How do I proceed with a somewhat silly build for this guy I am thinking of going 2 Ranger next.... also we are only playing core right now and I am the group tank. We decided to allow extra books after the first few sessions so we are gonna add one for each person so given the choice between them which would you pick Complete Champion or Complete Divine Complete Mage or Arcane I get Complete Warrior since thats the only one i can think of as we dont use Tome of Battle and Complete Adventurer and Complete Scoundrel P.S. thanks for reading my rant...lol |

I do want to be a better tank, stats are as follows. 17 16 16 11 14 11 Animal Companion is a secondary consideration as "Scooby" is just a joke and does nothing in actual combat. |

| #5deoxhydroxinateJul 04, 2009 16:19:39 | If "Scooby" isn't a priority, then as Dandu suggested, a 2 level dip into Ranger would be quite advantageous. (Though if you wanted to just be hilarious, you could always dip 4 into ranger for another animal companion and have it be "scrappy doo") Also - how high of a level do you plan on going? |
| #6danduJul 04, 2009 16:24:40 | Though if you wanted to just be hilarious, you could always dip 4 into ranger for another animal companion and have it be "scrappy doo" No. |
| #7flawless_pJul 04, 2009 16:34:49 | As far as level goes It will just continue for as long as we keep playing. Probably a while as so far it is hilarious. Also I am very very very tempted to get me some scrappy doo. |
| #8danduJul 04, 2009 16:37:17 | I will destroy you if you do so. |
| #9flawless_pJul 04, 2009 16:37:51 | I will destroy you if you do so. but but but.....but....Puppy Power. |
| #10danduJul 04, 2009 16:43:49 | That's it. Put 'em up. |
| #11flawless_pJul 04, 2009 16:48:51 | That's it. Put 'em up. :D ![]() :fight!:lol also as a funny side note my chain mail has armor spikes...so the twf thing is already a good idea... |
| #12danduJul 04, 2009 16:51:31 | I hope you took your first level as barbarian, you get more hit points and skill points. |
| #13flawless_pJul 04, 2009 16:55:32 | I hope you took your first level as barbarian, you get more hit points and skill points. yeah my actual progression is Barbarian/Fighter/Fighter/Barbarian But the skills are sweet I really wish i had diplomacy as a class skill though as I can't really do much talking. |
| #14danduJul 04, 2009 17:22:40 | Let your axe do your talking for you. |
| #15deoxhydroxinateJul 04, 2009 17:33:48 | What Dandu said. You're a barbarian. Hack first, scratch your head while you try to read the surrender note after. |
| #16guaanJul 04, 2009 18:16:23 | yeah my actual progression is Barbarian/Fighter/Fighter/Barbarian I think there is a fighter variant somewhere with diplomacy as class skill |
| #17nickresonanceJul 04, 2009 19:03:17 | Only one I know off the top of my head is the Zhentarim fighter sub levels. There's a Champions of Valor web enhancement that details everything. It's more focused on Intimidate, but the three sub levels DO have Diplomacy as a class skill. |
| #18guaanJul 04, 2009 19:53:44 | thats the one i was thinking of |
