#1 naanomi Mar 24, 2009 14:09:40	I'm starting a 1-20 FR campaign... Our GM Demands our builds have 1-20 progressions, but is very forgiving on letting us get RP requirements for stuff (IE: if you are an Illithid slayer on your 6th level, you will fight an illithid at level 5 somewhere)... My Party: Human Cleric, going into Warpriest or something similar (will have an improved version of the Goad feat that works like a single target Knight's Challange to tank with) Elven Wizard, going to be a counterspeller Human Monk, going to be a defensive staff fighter Human Monk, going to be a unarmed/VOP build Kobold Rogue, going to be a sneak attack/fighter with underfoot combat Looking at the groups I game with, this will probably be my last 3.5 chance to play a binder, so I am going to! Savage progression Aasimar Binder 15/KotSS 5 I want to try to focus on the debuff auras of Chupoclops/Focalar and the Gaze attacks of Geryon/Balam... My questions: What feat progression would you suggest? The gaze attack boosters from Serpent Kingdoms seem interesting... Which vestige should I patron as my KotSS? Keeping in mind the higher level I wait, and higher level my vestige, the laster my KotSS stuff kicks in... I am thinking Focalar (for earliest entry) or Balam (reroll is best ability to have on demand recharge of), but any other thoughts? Also, since standing around and hurting people will be my schtick, any other ways (items, etc) to get another Gaze attack? Or more general debuff auras? Preferably without losing anything in my binder progression... Martial Stance: Ironguard glare is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head, but I am away from books...
#2 jameswilliamogle Mar 24, 2009 14:16:04	I recomend using Zcecyryl (or whatever its called) instead. Its even FR-specific! What kind of enemies do you expect? Can you use Bloodlines? Can you use the Paladin of Tyranny or Hexblade??? To be fair, Dread Necromancers are way better at debuffing than Binders, and a Paladin of Tyranny / Hexblade mix w/ the Aura of Sadness feat will be even better. Dread Necromancer and Binder handbook in my sig for your convenience.
#3 naanomi Mar 24, 2009 14:41:51	The point is to play a binder way more than it is to play a debuffer specifically So the more binder I can be the better... I cannot use bloodlines, but any class is pretty much open to me. But then again, I want to be full binder if possible and without bloodlines that doesn't leave me alot of wiggle room for classes. I have read the Binder handbook backwards and forwards (since it's inception actually), just looking for last minute advice before we go on the field with it. Expected enemies... not entirely sure, but I think the progression that I am sure of will be Gobliniods -> Underdark Stuff -> Abberation cult BBEG, beyond this adventure arc, not sure. GM likes humanoid opponants with class levels alot.
#4 jameswilliamogle Mar 24, 2009 14:50:29	Humanoids use equipment; consider Imp Disarm in the mix-up. I think you should list a full feat setup, as you seem to know what you want to do.

Binder 10/KotSS 5 (Balam)/ Binder +5 Feats: 1) Learn Maneuver (Vanguard Strike?); 3) Learn Stance (Ironguard Glare); *4) Ignore Special Requirement; 6) Ability Focus (Foclar's Lightning); 9) WF: Longspear; 12) Piercing Gaze; 15) Prevasive Gaze; *16) Rapid Pact Making ; 18) Irresistable Gaze
