Help need it with 20th lv cleric progression

Mar 20, 2008 20:14:02 hi, i have an aasimar cleric of pelor level 18 (6 cleric- 10 radiant servitor of pelor- 2 sacred exorcist) with good, glory and sun domains.
Thing is that my current campaing will keep going for 4 or 5 months still and i don't know how to level up this guy.
Basicly since my dm does not allow epic spells i coud take take virtually any prestige, but the theme of the character is undead turning.

Please help me out with this, just some ideas of how to develop this guy, cause i am kind of lost. Any idea its welcome.

Mar 20, 2008 22:41:29 I'd keep going with SEx until its finished. After that, see if your DM will allow you to adapt Morning Lord of Lathander to Pelor (the same way you can adapt RSoP to RSoL). Those are the only classes that progress turning in full. Nothing else will gives you that.

Otherwise, Contemplative is amazing. You end up with SR, 3 extra domains and a few other perks. Very nice if you ask me.

Also, a single level in Church Inquisitor (requires ali change to LG) nets you the Inquisition domain, which grants a FABULOUS +4 unnamed bonus to all Dispel Checks. Pretty much unduplicated buff that lets your Dispels rise above the normal caps.

Going LG is counter to the RSoP's NG requirement, sadly.

All classes in which you lose the class features if your alignment deviates have a special section that discribes penalties and atonements and whatnot. RSoP has none. You simply can't advance any more as an RSoP, but he already maxed out its levels, so there is no penalty from tightening up the ship and drifting toward lawful while finishing out the SEx levels.

Alignment restrictions are stupid anyway. Yay 4th ed.

Depends on what source your DM is ruling from. Officially, if you fail to meet the prerequisites for a PrC, you no longer get any class features from it, meaning as soon as you shift alignments you get hosed.

However it doesn't fit with the character's goals. Undead turning. I don't know what to say about this, there are only a comparitive handful of PrCs that advance turning.

I would finish SE and then take some levels in Cleric if I wanted to max turning. But the truth is that, at this point, you have done most of what you can for turning. Class features are what matters at epic, absolutely nothing else is as important. Caster Levels stop being as useful after about 25 as most spells stop scaling at that point, what you get is mostly slightly improved durations. Base saving throws and BAB also stop improving at this point. Honestly I would see how many levels your DM expects you to gain and then ask about how he would treat an alignment change for RSoP.

The classes I would go for would be NG: Comteplative, Sacred Exorcist. LG: Prestige Paladin, Sacred Exorcist, Church Inquisitor. LG has a bit more depth and can stay on theme a bit longer, but NG might be the only way you can keep the nice abilities that RSoP has given you.

Mar 21, 2008 3:27:36 Okay, I'm going to say this one more time. Go Knight of the Raven. It's a great class and fits in your theme for anti-undead.

Most of the classes mentioned here are okay, but very few continue turning. Knight of the Raven does it and so much more.

Mar 21, 2008 13:38:51 ok, contenplative is actually a good prestige but i don't need the others domains of Pelor outside my own. I am already a outsider native and the sr its good yes, but using mass spell resistance with divine spellpower charges i come out with better results.
I don't have the expedition to ravenloft but a definitively will check knight of the raven.

I was thinking on taking levels this way: 1 hierophant (ranged healing), 1 mistic wanderer (cha to AC, but i got skill points to buy yet) and 2 divine oracle (for the weird evasion).

thanks for the suggestions, anymore ideas?
