My group is about to start a Gestalt Evil campaign so i want to create a Here is the Character background. Enoch Mathieson never knew his father growing up, his mother never talked of him other than to say that they met while she worked serving tables at the local inn. He was often jealous of the other children who would play games with both parents at festivals and on holidays. Then on his 15th birthday his mother grew extremely ill, and on her death bed revealed that his father's name and ther fact that he was a paladin of tyr. After burying his mother he set off to find his father. 6 months later he came across a priest of tyr who knew his father, and directed him to a keep not far from them. The priest told him that it was a keep where they trained those with the potential to become paladins. The next day he arrived at the keep and joined the rolls of students. For 2 years he trained, excelling at all tests that he was given, earning the admiration of other students and respect of his instructors, but he never revealed who he was to his father. On the night that he was to perform his Vigil to enter into the paladin order, he left the alter to confront his father. When Enoch told his father who he was, his father denied him, saying that he could not have had a son, he had never even been to the village that Enoch had grown up in. Enoch was infuriated at his father and the order that would allow such a charlatan a position of authority. He grabbed his father sword from where it lay and with one stroke decapitated him. He could have stopped there, and perhaps he would have, but there where darker forces nearby and his act had caught their attention. With murderous voices whispering in his ear he went from room to room, murdering the sleeping paladins and students, never wondering why noone so much as stirred when he entered their rooms. When his task was completed the voices stopped, and a new voice, more powerful than the others, said "You have served me well, may you do so again in the future". In the campaign i ran, he went from there to serving the demon that he heard, to betraying the demon and taking control of his domain and then the world he grew up on. Like i said earlier if we were starting at a higher level, i could easily make the classes fit the background, a couple levels of paladin to represent the paladin training, then blackguard on the oneside and whatever on the other. Being level 2 i cant do that though, any help i can get will be much appreciated. |

You could also play an Evil Fighter or Knight and say that you were never technically a Paladin. Another option depending on how you plan on fighting is you could play a Ranger and take the variant that lets your favored enemy be a organization and the 1st organization is the Paladins of Tyr. Those are the only things that come to mind right off the top of my head, I might post more later. |

Noteworthy in terms of flavor, you can heal yourself by 2 points every time you hurt someone with a melee weapon and you deal more damage for a round after being injured. Cloistered cleric would go well opposite that. If spells aren't your thing, you could go with rogue on the other side. Incarnate is another option, though you would have to be neutral evil. It's not the strongest option, but you could heal 4 extra points of damage each time you are subject to a healing effect (so 6 HP per attack), deal 4 extra damage per attack, or gain 2 extra HP per level. Those effects would improve gradually with levels (next improvements at 3 and 5), and you would eventually be able to do them all simultaneously. There are of course many other things that can be done with Magic of Incarnum, but I'm not that familiar with it. |

You can also give him a permanencied Divine power, you could just say the demon gave him the gift while he was serving the evil lord. Of course, with gestalt you can do much better than a cleric, you could do a paladin/sorcerer or something. He would be able to keep up with the players at all levels. (or atleast, he should.) |

| #6kypriothOct 05, 2009 20:36:10 | Ah, I am sorry. I assumed you were the DM making a bbeg for a campaign you were going to be running. You can forget my last post if that is the case. |
