| #1vaevictisdMar 09, 2011 20:53:21 | Hello everyone... It's been some time since I've bothered the community with some silly/random build thought, but now I have something pretty specific in mind. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia caught my eye, and I couldn't help but noticing one of the characters in it, Shanoa, who could "manifest" weapons and use them with ease, plus have some interesting nuking and otherwise kabooming abilities. Given that a couple of my characters have a history with both, I've decided that I wanted to create Shanoa, either as PC or NPC. For the background, she is destined to be the daughter of a tainted sorcerer/necromancer extravaganza, and an NPC using the temporarily-created-to-suit-the-story Quincy Bowman. (for those not familiar with the anime BLEACH, Quincy bowmen use something like a force bow, force arrows etc). Putting some thought into it, I come up with Soulknife from Psionics, for the ability to manifest weapons, possibly in combination (Gestalt?) with Fighter or Warblade levels, for the cheesy feat-adding possibilities (Since the weapons are meant to be different types, I figured I'd best try and use something with a lot of proficiency). However, that does leave out most of the mystical mumbo-jumbo she's supposed to have inherited from one of her parents. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated. ![]() |

Add in various powers like, well, Weapon of energy or a few level in the Pyroknieticist PrC. Yeah, pyro is all fire damage, but hey, better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Then there's the Martial Wizard variant from Unearthed Arcana. You get fighter feats instead of metamagic or item creation feats, you get fighter feats. Combine that with spells that generate weapons (yes, blasting is sub optimal, but the OP isn't looking to be GOD), and you're set. If you're deadset on the Quincy thing (sigh), use the Soulbow PrC instead. Heck, you could just go Warlock. With the right essences and Eldritch Glaive, bam, and at the same time, shazam. |

I never was a bow person ^^" All I'm up to is the appropriate energy weapons called from nowhere, plus a bit of blast. Maybe a combination of Psychic Warrior and Warlock might just give me the effect I'm looking for. I'm so going to have a headache creating that character...I must admit with shame I haven't really looked into either of the classes all that well >.< Any cheesy feats for optimization? I'm not looking for something excessively OP, just that extra damage that would seperate her from the good enough and the good characters. Also, now that I remember, weaponlike SPELLS could also work quite well. |

Heck, go for the martial wizard for, well, feats. Manuevers will go a long way, period. Decent Int synergy. Though the action economy might hurt a bit as most spells that do the summon weapon thing take a standard action to cast. Maybe use mostly counter and boost manuevers (Iorn Heart Surge!!!!!) and then use the spell-born weapons as your main damage source. |
