| #1brokenalphaMar 24, 2008 20:09:23 | A player in my group wants to fiddle around with a replacement character. He's looking to play a stealthy killer type of character, and he can't seem to find the build that suits his concept fully. He was originally going to do rogue 3/fighter 3, but decided he'd be a bit too useless with that. Then he bought the Tome of Battle and never looked back. Now he's thinking about doing a rogue 5/swordsage 1, then take 4 more levels of swordsage, and continue on as a rogue. I think this is a bit of a waste. Let's concentrate on the task at hand though - what's the best way to create a stealthy killer at level 6 using rogue and swordsage? He wants to emphasize sneak attack and stealth skills while being a bit more effective in combat. He's open to any ideas, but insists on playing a half elf...so emo... ![]() I'm fiddling around with something like rogue 2/ranger 2/swordsage 2, but that seems to be lacking something.... |

I guess he's looking for something that works well with the Swordsage's Shadow Hand abilities, which are pretty stealthy. |

Or trade out a Fighter level for Swashbuckler for more options later (Int to damage), as he'll likely be picking up Weapon Finesse with a fighter feat anyway. Just so long as he waits till 5th level to take Swordsage, that way his initiator level will be 3 and he won't be stuck with a big stack of 1st level manuevers. Depending on whether you're using XP penalties for multiclassing, he might have to plan ahead a bit, knowing how many Swordsage levels he wants and when to take them to maximise his initiator level. |
