Any suggestions to a sorc multiclass that is both powerful and has alot of ac?
We start at level 9

Here is some information about the campaign:

Faerun setting 3.5

32 point buy system

we use most books

Most level adjustment is +1 on races

Limited to medium characters

Also i know that the "last boss" is a beholder, and we are going to fight a lot of spellcasters on the way.

Any help would be appreciated.

For lots of AC (Armor Class), AC (Abjurant Champion) is always good...it puts the AC in AC!

It has tons of goodies, but requires combat casting for entry. A straight sorc only qualifies for it after level 10. The PRC is in Complete Mage.

Fighting lots of mages and a beholder would put an emphasis on saves... and maybe dispelling. So check out this.

I would probably recommend a:

Paladin2/Sorcerer4/Spellsword1/AbjurantChampion5

Spellsword is from Complete Warrior. I would finish the build with more sorcerer (To keep things simple); or just about any full-casting PRC you want.

Take "Arcane Preparation" feat, so you can cast "Greater Luminous Armor" (From the Book of Exalted Deeds).

If the +1 race LA is free and can be used for a template, White Dragonspawn is stupidly good.

Arcane Preparation won't let you use Greater Luminous Armor, it lets you prepare spells you already know ahead of time so that you can use metamagic feats on them without the extra casting time. Greater Luminous Armor isn't available to sorcerers in the first place, (only wizards, clerics, druids, and archivists) so the feat wouldn't help.

To the OP: I'd go Venerable Dragonwrought Desert Kobold (+0 LA) -4 Str, +2 Dex, +3 Int, +1 Wis, +3 Cha (you have to take Dragonwrought Kobold at first level but it's worth it IMO) If you want something with hi AC I'd go
Monk 1/Paladin 2/Sorcerer 6 then go into Abjurant Champion after. Take Practiced Spellcaster feat (so you're caster level is still 9th) and Ascetic Mage feat. You'll have your CHA to AC and to saves, say you have a Cha of 24, and a Dex of 16, your AC would be 22 without ANY armor or spells (+7 Cha, +3 Dex, +1 Size, +1 Natural Armor)

if you're fighting beholders, Ray Deflection (SC) is a very nice spell to have

The saves for the beholders rays aren't very high, so my build with awesome saves you wouldn't need ray deflection ;)

We like to keep it simple: only characters that are actually allowed inside a human city, or, be able to disguise himself as one. And we start at level 9, or ecl 10.

Also that build seems very good mr crowley, also we dont use templates, i dont know why, but thats how it is.

And what book is ascetic mage in?

Complete Adventurer, I believe (or one of the early Complete books).

I'm against losing too many spellcasting levels, personally... An alternative could be Sorcerer 6 / Incanatrix 3 then continue Incanatrix until you finish it. Strongheart Halfling is a small race that'll get you a bonus feat, which is nice. The proposed build is an excellent setup for a melee-first spellcaster-second character, but it'll be 4 levels behind a Wizard, which means 2 levels lower, which stinks (9th level character with 3rd level spells is worse than a straight-classed Mystic Theurge).

For spells, try to target the Beholder's Fort save, as Beholders have notoriously low Fort. Even Enervation (no save, SR yes) can help amplify other effects. Fort saves are also the lowest on spellcasters, so you have a lot of synergy there. If you want to combine that with direct damage (which works great on an Incanatrix), Orb of Fire does damage w/ a ranged touch then hits a Fort save for a secondary effect (or be dazed). Also, you need Dispel Magic (of course). Instead of focusing on AC, use Greater Mirror Image and Blink for defenses (for now, until you reach 15th level or so, then you should be using Overland Flight to stay far, far away from enemies).

(I'm playing a debuff Sorcerer now in a Pathfinder game and having a lot of fun with it!)

EDIT: I see you need a medium character; just play a Human instead of a Strongheart Halfling.

Try this:

Aasimar(+1 LA)
Sorceror 6/ Eldritch Knight 3

BAB +6
8th lvl Sorceror Spells(4th lvl max)
Caster level = 8, 11th for Fire Spells
4d6 Firey Burst at will... Unlimited use

Attributes: (32pt buy)

10 Str(10)
14 Dex(14)
14 Con(14)
14 Int(14)
12 Wis(10 +2 Racial)
22 Cha(16 +2 Racial +2 lvls +2 cloak)

Feats:
1st lvl: Bloodline of Fire(regional)
3rd lvl: Heighten Spell
6th lvl: Fiery Burst(Reserve)
9th lvl: Versatile Spellcaster
Weapon Finnesse(Eldritch Knight bonus)

feat descriptions

Bloodline of Fire[Regional](PGF p35)req:Must be from one of the following races & regions:[indent]
Human – Calimshan
Planetouched – Calimshan[/indent]
+4 bonus on saving throws vs. Fir effects.
You can cast spells with the [fire] descriptor at +2 Caster level.

Fiery Burst[Reserve](Complete Mage)Prerequisite: Ability to cast 2nd-level spells.
Benefit: As long as you have a fire spell of 2nd level or higher available to cast, you can spend a standard action to create a 5-foot-radius burst of fire at a range of 30 feet. This burst deals 1d6 points of fire damage per level of the highest-level fire spell you have available to cast. A successful Reflex save halves the damage.
As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus to your caster level when casting fire spells.

Versatile Spellcaster[General](Races of the Dragon)Prerequisite: Ability to spontaneously cast spells.
Benefit: You can use two spell slots of the same level to cast a spell you know that is one level higher. For example, a sorcerer with this feat can expend two 2nd-level spell slots to cast any 3rd-level spell he knows.

Dragonwrought isn't a template. It's a feat you would need to take at first level, so that's still doable. Yes you do give up some spellcasting for the AC and saves, it all depends on what you value more. With practiced spellcaster you'll be doing the same damage as a 9th level caster but with less spells known and per day.

Sorc/Incantrix is good too, I'd go with a Spellscale out of Races of Dragon, -2 Con, +2 Cha. They get a cool blood quickening ability, and are able to take feats like Practical Metamagic, Accelerate Metamagic, etc. Definitely take Spell Shield alt class feature out of Dungeonscape, gets rid of the familiar and lets you burn arcane spells to negate damage taken.

Spellscale is definitely a good one for the Incanatrix option, too; he has to be "medium" so that takes out the Venerable Dragonwrought Kobold, I think...

Carnivore's build is pretty nice too, again focusing on the "Gish" like aspects, and losing a few spellcasting levels, but still good.

True, but I was talking about spellcasting level (ie for access purposes, not CL). Like I said, still very strong .
