Hi, our GM decided to restrict us to the "Complete..." series and PHB 1 for an adventure.

Could anyone be so kind and help me look at my idea so far? I'm thinking of making a Dervish with 1 level in sorcerer, with oversized twf and monky grip. (Huge scimitars if enlarged by Enlarge Person). A few levels in fighter to get the twf feats i need, and a level in barbarian for the movement speed, and rage when not dancing...

Does anyone see potential good changes or additions to this? Remember i'm restricted to PHB 1 and the "Complete" books. Any help would be much appreciated

Does "Complete" include the last ones to come out (Complete Mage, Complete Scoundrel, Complete Champion)?

Starting level? Campaign details? Party makeup?

Monkey Grip and oTWF is kind of bad.

can you give us more information on what role you'd like to fill (tank, ranged, blaster, utility, skillmonkey, healer, &c.) and your starting level?

are you allowed the SRD? if so, the variants? complete psionic?

the reserve feats in complete mage are very useful for lower-level casters

the completes contain most ingredients for a karmic strike fighter

there are some interesting possibilities with master thrower

eldritch disciple is strong

CD gives access to divine metamagic

-obviously there are a lot of options, and the complete series is not very limiting. dont forget about the alternate class features (CM, CC), and the racial classes in CPsi

Given the parameters the OP requested, here's a 32PB build:

Human
Lion Totem Barbarian 1/Ranger 2/Scout 3/Stalwart Sorcerer 4/Dervish 10

STR 14 DEX 16 CON 14 INT 13 WIS 8 CHA 13, BOOST STR exclusively

Feats (no particular order, includes bonus feats): Combat Expertise, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Track, TWF, WF(Scimitar), Extra Rage, Instantaneous Rage, Monkey Grip , Extra Spell, Swift Hunter

Second level spells, Pounce, full Dervish progression. Stalwart Sorcerer and a Toad Familiar mean the HP lost aren't unbearable, given you'll be bouncing around the battlefield like a vulcanized rubber pinball. As JWO said, Monkey Grip is a REALLY SUBOPTIMAL choice. I'd much prefer to toss a better damage amplifier in there.

Thanks for replies!

Forgot to say we will start at level 12. I want to deal as much damage as possible. Complete mage, scoundrel and champion is also included, but not psionics. i know nothing of the adventure yet... the other party members haven't decided what to be yet either.

If only you got Magic Item Compendium. Strongarm Bracers allow you to wield a weapon one size category higher without penalty.
