Help retrieving an old build

Hi guys, I'm trying to retrieve an Old Build of mine, from this thread. It is listed under the Charge Builds and is titled "Sounds Like Rain" by Draegun Fury (one of my old handles).

I tried following the link, but it was dead, and I'm not sure if anyone knows how to retrieve the build or not?

If the link in the primary post is to be believed, the build was the 220th post. There's no build there, though. One of my builds is listed at 513, and it is indeed the 513th post.

Yeah I went to the 220th post but it was not there. I don't know why :\

Looking at the URLs for those links, I see about three different types, starting with "boards", "boards1", and "boardsold". That makes me think that the thread could have been linking to an older forum version, or was maybe transported from an earlier forum version. The post numbers and post count placement look to be in the right sort of ranges no matter which start they have, which suggests that the later boards had copies of data from the older ones. Checking a few of them, the "boards" and "boards1" entries appear to be present in the thread, while those linked by "boardsold" appear missing. Ironically, one of the "boardsold" links I checked had post #184, which in this version of the thread has a post about transporting builds over from the old boards.

All the "boardsold" entries are in roughly the same range of posts 183-220, which is about the same time as that post about the transport of builds, so I'd guess that those posts were misplaced due to something involving the switchover. I can actually assume the swapover period went back at least as far as post #178, since one of the posters with a build linked as "boardsold" reposted their build at that point.

So what happened? I think there would have been a period in whichever board swap it was where the Tome of Battle build thread was present in both the older and newer boards, with people posting at the same post counts in both. If someone posted a build in the older board at that time, it wouldn't have appeared in the copy of that thread on the newer board unless they reposted it there, but the OP's list could still have linked to it using the old board's address for the thread. If that's the case, the "Sounds Like Rain" build was never reposted in the new copy of the boards and thus doesn't exist in that copy of the thread.

I don't think you're going to find the build unless it was replicated somewhere, or you can somehow gain access to that older board data (if it even still exists).

Damn, thanks for trying tho' mate.

Yeah if I recall it was around the time that they we're moving to the New Boards for 4th Edition. I left the Community just after that, so I guess I didn't copy over the build or something. The build was noothing special, just abused the White Raven charge rules, with smaller size creatures to dishout thousands of points of Damage. I just would have liked to have read over it again. Alas, such is life.
