Help with a bard idea...

Hello CO, I recently came up with an idea for a bard. I don't know if it's necessarily an original idea, but I would love some insight from those with experience turning the bard class into a competent caster. Here's what I have in mind:

Bard 1 (Melodic Casting)

Bard 2

Bard 3

Bard 4

Bard 5

Bard 6 (Heighten Spell)

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 1

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 2 (Captivating Melody)

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 3 (Rapid Metamagic)

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 4

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 1 (Energy Substitution: Sonic)

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 2

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 3

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 4

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 5

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 6

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 7

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 8

Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 5/Sublime Chord 9

The concept is to blast sonic substituted spells from Sublime Chord's spell list, augmenting them with Lyric Thaumaturge's sonic might class feature. But, as you can see, I've got the class progression figured out... and that's all I got so far. I would greatly appreciate some help filling in the gaps. I accept any kind of constructive ideas. Thanks for your help in advance.

Update: Filled in some feats with what I think are viable options. However, never playing a bard I'm still unsure how good a selection they are. Decided turning a bard into a nuker would be fun, and hilarious (at least with my group).

Dec 11, 2009 13:53:23 For more sonic damage look into the feats Dragontouched, Dragon Heritage: Battle Dragon, and Dragonfire Inspiration. All three of these feats are in Dragon Magic and when combined you and your party deal extra sonic damage with most attacks. The Creaking Cacaphony (SC) spell is definitely worth looking into if you want to deal decent ammounts of sonic damage.

The feat suggestions are interesting, and something I would consider using. That spell is tremendous, as well. Thanks for the suggestions.
