Help with a Changeling Warshaper

Nov 12, 2009 14:31:45 Ok, simple request for assistance. I'm joining a game in progress at level 7, and I want to try to build a barbaric changeling warshaper. My only issues are I want a level of Barbarian in the first four levels, and I want to already have steadfast determination (which requires endurance) and power attack when I start playing at level 7.

My biggest problem has been trying to decide where to go AFTER level 8. Any ideas for solid, but easy to qualify for warrior PrCs at that point given the feats I already want to have? I'd like to also alread have Extra Rage, but I can put that off until level 9 if needed.

So, any thoughts on PrCs after level 9 or pre-warshaper levels?

Only real rules: No ToB, no dragon mag, otherwise almost all WotC material is available.

Flavor "rules": I'd prefer non divine, non arcane.

Nov 12, 2009 16:00:51 Barbarian 4/Warshaper 3 works for what you want. Pick up Power Attack, Endurance, and Steadfast Determination as your 3 feats. I actually would stop at Warshaper 4 and go somewhere else as the changing as a move action isn't really that big of a deal. You ALWAYS have better options than re-disguising yourself in the middle of combat.

Nov 15, 2009 15:23:27 Any fighter/barbarian prc will really do the trick. Frenzied Berserker is always a good option.
Also, bear warrior fits nicely with the whole shapeshifting thing, if you want to be a bear. once you get a bear form that gives you reach, youll have 15ft reach. You'll also qualify for extended reach(savage species) beacause of warshaper. for a possilbe 20ft reach. If you go this route, large and in charge is another great feat.
Also don't forget about racial emulation, a feat for changlings out of Races of Ebberron, it allows you to qualify as another race, opening up more options.

Nov 16, 2009 6:13:16 If you can bear delaying WS entry a level, I'd suggest two levels of the Feat Rogue from UA for two extra (fighter) feats, massive skill points and evasion.

As mentioned above, Racial Adaptation would open the door to PrCs like Deepwarden for a decent AC boost (your CON is likely great). Bear Warrior is also good.

Nov 17, 2009 1:40:07 I ultimately ended up playing a different character, but I had finished stating him out as you suggested, Feat Rogue 2 / Fighter 2 / Pouncy Whirling Barbarian 1 / Warshaper 2. This would allow me to get all the feats I wanted and still qualify for Frenzied Berserker at 9.
