| #1trisSep 03, 2008 14:30:03 | We're playing in a high powered(not high level) campaign and our cleric picked up two fighter feats. He's a melee healer at level seven, and already has weapon focus, just looking for some suggestions. Any books allowed and His stats are 16,10,14,8,16,14. Oh, he's human. I was thinking power attack, simply because, it's power attack, but after that I'm at a loss. I'm really bad with generic fighter feats not really building toward something bigger. Anyway, thanks for the help in advance. |

Oh, he's human. ask the cleric how he got weapon focus? i'm pretty sure he got it from the war domain. which also grants free relevant proficiency, Jack "The Tripper" Human Fighter Str 19 (16+1+2 gloves) dex 18 (16+2 bracers) Con 14 Int 10 Wis 14 Cha 8 HP (assuming level 7) 69 Feats Exotic weapon proficiency: Spiked Chain, Combat reflexes, Improved Trip, Improved toughness (mm5) Improved disarm, Weapon focus, Spiked chain, Weapon specialization, spiked chain, Short haft, Equipment +1 Spiked chain (2335) +1 Mithral shirt (2100) Bracers Dex +2 (4,000) Gloves str +2 (4,000) Everburning torch (110) Master work Buckler (165) Ring protection +1 (2000) Amulet natrual armor +1 (2000) 2480 gold pieces this is an easy 7th level character Trip everything, If it gets back up, use an attack of oppurtunity to retrip it. keep everything you can on it's back. |

| #4arcane-surgeSep 04, 2008 1:39:02 | Can't you? Can I get a page reference on that? |
| #5bruceleeroySep 04, 2008 4:56:31 | It doesn't say so explicitly in the RAW. However, you can't trip someone who is prone. Since they are technically prone when they provoke the attack of opportunity for attempting to stand, and the AoO resolves before they finish their action of standing, they are prone for that AoO. Therefore, you cannot trip someone attempting to stand from prone. Trust me, this has been covered very well in many places. Check the FAQ, Rules of the Game, search this forum, etc. |
| #6ninjarabbitSep 04, 2008 10:33:32 | BruceLeeroy is correct, you can't trip something that's already tripped, the AoO would resolve before the guy got up. Does it have to be a fighter feat? The cleric would be better off spending the feat on something that improves his spellcasting like a metamagic feat. At level 7 he'll be casting divine power, which is all the melee he'll really need. |
