Help with a gestalt Sorcerer/Dfire Adept spell selection

'Sup Char Op. I joined this game where we're playing with really high power stats: Gestalt, level 5, straight 18 array, full HP, perfect saving throws. So I thought I'd break loose and play something I've wanted to for a while, a Dragonfire Adept/Sorcerer based on being all about the draconic heritage (while being human because I can't stand the Draconic races for the most part).

I went with Sorcerer because I've heard tell of many Sorcerer-only draconic spells, breath spells, and so on. My problem is that these are all scattered around random sourcebooks, so I have no idea how many, how good they are, what to take, and so on. The party has a Bard/Wizard, a Cleric/Paladin, and a Swordsage/Something, so I'm thinking of going a more debuffing route with the Entangling Exhalation feat for my breath and such. Weaken everyone while hurting them at the same time, and make it easier on the big melee dudes. My questions for you then are: given all this, what would you consider critical spells I should take? Do you think I should upgrade to a Battle Sorcerer for the higher HD and BAB so I can help out in the melee too?

Wings of Cover and Wings of Flurry are good sorcerer-only spells. Polymorphing into dragons probably doesn't hurt either.

Look at the Draconomicon, Races of the Dragon and the SpC for spells.

Most of the spells that affect your Breath Weapon are quite powerful.

What PrC are you planning for the Sorcerer? Sandshaper+Fiendblooded? Incantatrix? Urban Savant?

I had not really thought about PrCs yet.

Well, you do that. I'm guessing your DM lets you use Metabreath feats with your DFA Breath Weapon?

Be sure to get a Crown of the North Winds (Dragons of Faerun, IIRC, at 70K) and maybe be a Dragonwrought Kobold for an amazing breath.

Dragonwrought Kobold, no. I dislike playing monstrous races. I just can't get into it at all.

As for Metabreath, I'm using the power surge trick from the DFA handbook to artificially create a waiting period and be able to stick Metabreaths on it, but that'd come later.

Dispelling Breath from Spell Compendium.

There's also some others in there - Blinding Breath, etc ... but Dispelling is the best imo.
