| #1albuquerqueDec 25, 2011 16:48:36 | Hi! I'm going to start a new campaign and i will roll with a combat oriented Cleric. I'm playing for a long time D&D 4th and remember nothing about 3.5 builds, so i'm here asking for help. A little about my char: 1) I will play on a non oficial Realm. I will be an orphan who grew up in the streets and dreamed of becoming a warrior. When he reached 13 years he was recruited by the church, after saving the daughter of a local lord. On his first mission for the church at 17 years, he discovered that his parents were involved behind the activities of the church of "evil god". He killed them, because for him, nothing is beyond their god; He is very diplomatic and polite. Will be very courteous in their actions, especially when it comes to women. On the other hand, when in action, will be very focused on your goal, always trying to solve their problems quickly, like two souls in one body. 2) I got: 18, 18, 16, 14, 14 and 11. I'm thinking about: Wis > Str > Car > Cons > Int > Dex. Good? 3) I can take any 2 Cleric domains. 4) I was thinking about Ordained Champion, has Smite anything, right? But i can't think about anything else. Suggestions? 5) Persistent Spell is a good way? What about other feats? I hope for help. Thank you! |

If you're doing the Divine Metamagic Persist route, Planning (Extend Spell) and Undeath (Extra Turning) aren't bad domain choices, and I would arrange my stats for CoDzilla like: Str 11 Dex 14 Con 18 Int 14 Wis 18 Cha 16 *Note, I love having a high Con, regardless of character. Having a high strength isn't too important - you're a cleric and can cast spells to boost it quite easily (Divine Power, Righteous Might, Bull's Strength, to name a few). You could switch the Strength and Intelligence around, but it sounds as though you'd like to give him a few extra skills to spread around. For feats, Persistent Spell and Divine Metamagic, obviously, then take a few additional Extra Turning feats to help fuel your DMM. Load up on other items that will boost your turns / day (Nightstick for example). There's the obvious Cleric / Crusader / Ruby Knight Vindicator (if Tome of Battle is allowed)... Which books *are* allowed, actually? |

If you're trying to eek out every last turn attempt for persisting, then yes, the switch between Cha and Con would be nice. Like I said, I just love me some hit points. |
