| #1avarilMar 25, 2010 14:38:28 | Hi, I'm playing a Fighter 6 that's about to multi into a Crusader. I read Tome of Battle, and thought I had it down, but when I went back and read my original thread, I'm a little confused. By my recogning, I should have 5 maneuvers and 1 stance as a Ftr 6/Cru 1. My initiator level will be 1 + 1/2 6 = 4, so my max maneuver level is 2. But, I went back and read this: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... And was confused by this: The thing is, Whatever 6 tends to work pretty well for entering Crusader. This is because it lets you pick up both Aura of Perfect Order and Immortal Fortitude as natural stances, without blowing feats (not that we're really in feat debt, but still, a feat saved is a feat earned). Was he just talking about future prospects? By my understanding, I should only have one stance, max level of 2. But, Aura of Perfect Order is Level 6, and Immortal Fortitude is level 8. I don't see how I could get either of those at my current level. This thread is also talking about dipping into another class for a few levels to get better stances: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... Evidently, I'm not getting it. I need someone to explain the Crusader stance and maneuver progression to me as if I were a small, stupid child. Please help? |

The stance that you can get with your second (and higher) crusader levels is only limited by your IL, though (as are your maneuvers). I'd highly suggest picking up Thicket of Blades with your second crusader level. The levels the stances and maneuvers were assigned to really has little to do with their usefulness. Thicket of Blades is one of the most powerful things in that entire book. Only being rated as 3rd level just means it is easier to get. Also, this thread was invaluable for me when I started trying to build my first martial adepts: brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.p... |
