| #1CheironJun 06, 2014 19:49:51 | ~~Hey guys I have a character than I am 3 feats short of ( well 2.5 I guess) the character is here http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetvie...sheetid=556775 and I have an open martial study for sure and then 2 more feats. my problem is I just cannot think of any addition feats let alone what martial maneuver to take,
my concept for my character is a ex merc captain who is VERY intimidating ( the staredown frightful presence and imperious command do that trick very vell) id like to round out his merc captain-ness a bit more with maybe a white raven maneuver or two. perhaps even a stance? anyways just general advice would be great as well. |

I'm playing a similar character right now, using hexblade. You can read up on him in the Dead for Nothing link in my signature. From what I've learned, the following might be transferrable: Get Fearsome armor (Drow of the Underdark) to intimidate as a move action, and the Never Outnumbered skill trick (CScn) to 1/enc turn that intimidate into a large AoE centered on you. One move action and the entire enemy frontline skips their next turn cowering, and remains vulnerable for other fear effects otherwise. (My hexblade amps this up by adding on debuffs, which make my intimidations and attacks even more likely to work, but that won't transfer to you since I can tell you're using Samurai for whatever reason.)
In tems of maneuvers and feat selections, I can't tell without that link being fixed.
EDIT: Went ahead and fixed that link for you and OH SWEET CTHULHU 17 levels of Samurai?! There's not much we can do to help you here, particularly because every foe you'll fight at this level is immune to mind-affecting effects, and all fear effects are mind-affecting, so you can't actually intimidate anything at all.
I can't tell what levels your free feats and Martial Study kicked in, due to the way Myth_Weavers organizes their character sheets; we need to know that to pick maneuvers at the very least (IL, prerequisites, etc.)
My other advice holds, but it will literally only work against the equivalent of goblins at this level, since every significant foe will be immune to fear. (The way I got around this with my hexblade was to have fear be only a tiny bit of what he does, largely the rest being no-save debuffs, thus opening the way for more deadly teammates to deliver kill moves. Most of those don't take actions, so I simply keep the full attacks coming wherever possible, reserving the fear bursts for thinning enemy ranks.) |
| #3CheironJun 07, 2014 7:18:51 | Except its not the official samurai, but my own fix which is linked in teh contact/allies box for the character also here it is
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?278499-Samurai-Re-tool-please-critique nice thing.. they get around fear immunity
my open feats are for 9th, 12th and 15th level
I cna already Initmidate as a swift action (or everybody in 30 feet as a move) that bypasses fear immunity. except with imperious command NOW the cower for 1 round first
IF the link doesn;t work here there is still the one in my character sheet |
| #4CheironJun 09, 2014 13:32:44 | Ok i picked 2 of my 3 open feats
going martial studyf or both and netting the white raven manuevers that prevents attack of opportunities on a successful attack
and a white raven maneuver that deal extra damage and gives everybody a free 5 foot step.
still not sure about the last feat though.. really cannot think of any that would help out my character in terms of cpatain/commander-ish ness |
