Good evening. I'm working on a character for a new gestalt game. Here are the ground rules:
* All official WoTC materials, but no Dragon-only things without GM permission (not likely).

* Gestalt rules are modified as follows:

- Dual-advancement classes can be taken.

- Two PRCs can be taken at once, but neither can be a dual-class.

- Template levels fill across both slots, cutting the adjustment in half.

- No experience penalties for base classes.

* 32 pt buy for stats, OR I can roll 4d6/drop the lowest.

* Fractional BAB and Saves.

* Starting level is six, standard wealth.

* Game is set in Eberron, but will be a horror/apocalypse game with less resources than usual as the world dies around us =P.
Thus far we have several strong fighter characters and one that should be a very capable arcane caster. We don't seem to have any divine casters yet, though the GM said the game will fit the characters... so I don't necessarily need to fill that role at all.

My character concept is relatively simple - an alluring debutante/socialite/spy. In mechanical terms at least a partial skill-monkey, then whatever else we can fit in. I see her as more versatile than specialized, but this is gestalt, so maybe we can do both =). She should be Charisma based, Intelligence based, or both.

So that's the set up and my character idea. I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on how to best make this happen. My current idea, unoptimized though it may be:

Side one.................................Side two
1) Half-fey template class..........Factotum 1
2) Half-fey template class .........Factotum 2
3) Marshall 1...........................Factotum 3
4) Battledancer........................Factotum 4
5) Not sure!............................Factotum 5
6) Chameleon..........................Not sure!

My thoughts were then to finish out Chameleon on one side and Factotum on the other, save for the one free level (I only want Factotum 19). I really like the Half-fey template (Charm person at will!), but this is kind of a messy build... I know I won't get a whole lot out of either Chameleon or Factotum with a high Charisma. >.<

So I'm looking to you all for better ideas! Help please! ^__^

If you're at all interested in using enchantment for part of your build, you should check out my handbook (in my sig).

That said ... check out the savage species advancement of succubus, or perhaps make your own ... a succubus (or incubus, if you want) character is great at charming - and in gestalt the LA/HD is not really an issue.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll check it out right away.

Oooh, hypnotic graphics... ^_^

Wow, excellent guide. The succubus racial progression was interesting too - the abilities were very much in line with the character, though she isn't meant to be a literal demon seductress.

I wonder if anyone has made a Nymph racial class progression?

As for the rest... I probably need to decide between Int and Charisma. It looks like the best classes (by a large margin) for charm spells are all Int based... that strikes me as odd =p.

Back to the drawing board for me.

Another good option for charms and skill monkeys is Beguiller from PHBII. It is an intelligence based caster though.

In gestalt I think the beguiler loses some of its punch because you can do casting one side and skill monkey on the other side. But, its not a bad choice at all!

BTW - the savage species succubus progression is 3.0 - the 3.5 succubus is a bit different. So you'll have to do a little tinkering. Or you could make a nymph progression, like you suggested. The thing with nymph is, though, you sorta waste those 7 druid levels she gets if you don't continue on with druid ... and druid isn't a good enchantment class.

Sorcerer (or generic caster from UA) is CHA based and can be a decent enchanter. Or you could ask for a house rule to make the beguiler CHA based (which it should be, in my opinion ... and warmage should be INT based! ARGH!)

I'm waiting for some feedback from my GM - I'm trying to either make a Nymph progression (Without the druid casting, which seems worth about +3 of the LA), or to convert the Succubus progression over to a dark-fey.

Either one will give me good intelligence and dangerously high charisma ^_^

I'll post some new build thoughts for review once I get a yay or nay from my GM on the racial classes.
