| #1brag3006Apr 04, 2008 11:35:28 | i wanna try something like this out. i need help making a wizard that has at least 18 full caster levels (spells known, spells per day the whole deal) and at least 15 BAB so far, ive got - Grey Elf (+2 int, +2 dex, -2 con, -2 str) Wizard 8/Elf Paragon 3/Abjurant Champion 5/Eldritch Knight 4. caster lvl 18, BAB +15 is this the best i can do? all books, as well as quintessential wizard are available to me. |
| #2phoenix00Apr 04, 2008 11:38:01 | all standard books meaning what? Core, Complete, Races, Enviroment, Heroes, Setting, Nonsetting, 3.5, Dragon, etc. Also you are starting in epic, or going to play this build, what is the starting level? |
| #3brag3006Apr 04, 2008 11:40:31 | i mean every single dnd 3.5 wizards of the coast book basically. anything is legal. and quintessential books form mongoose. and im starting to play this at level 15 |
| #4phaedrusxyApr 04, 2008 11:50:43 | Ftr1/Wiz6/Spellsword1/AbjChamp5/Eldritch Knight 7 CL 18 (including spells per day), BAB +17 Or even better: Wizard/Incantatrix with Arcane Disciple (War) for Persistent Divine Power. You only need a Wisdom of 14 for this, but you might want a higher one. |
| #5phoenix00Apr 04, 2008 11:59:54 | Wizard 5/Eldritch Knight 2/Abjurant Champion 5/Eldritch Knight +8 Take otherworldly as your 1st level feat, gives you outsider type which opens polymorph chease and gives you martial weapon profiency all. BAB of 17 Casts as a 19th level wizard Maybe throw in a level of spellsword for ACF reduction. I would not for it reduces your epic, and if you are an abjurant champion that is good you should be doing Greater Luminous Armor. |
| #6brag3006Apr 04, 2008 18:03:03 | hmm.. so there really arent any better choices than the eldritch knight? |
| #7bozwevialApr 04, 2008 18:14:08 | You'll want 16 BaB or up for that 4th attack per round. Eldritch knight only sacrifices one level of spellcasting, and you get a feat that level. It's a staple of gish builds. Abjurant champion has full BaB, full casting and nice class features. It's a good way to fill in a gap in the build. Spellswords can reduce ASF chance and channel spells through melee attacks. If you can use anything, how about Jade Phoenix Mage? I know it may not be entirely optimal in terms of casting ability, but it's a good class, and Tome of Battle is the best melee resource out there. |
| #8lordmaulApr 04, 2008 18:38:05 | +1 Jade Pheonix Mage You will be hard pressed to get CL 18 with it (though Practiced Spellcaster will fill CL up, and you only need 17th level for 9th level spells). However: Full BaB A series of Manuvers/Stances (which, all told, can be quite awesome) Firebird Stance/Quickening Strike/Emerald Immolation, all of which are awesome. Emerald Immolation, in particular (which you can get by 16th level) almost doubles your hp, as well as deal very decent damage to nearby foes (and friends, unfortunately) 8/10 spellcasting A level of Warblade would meet the main part of the prereqs (and give you martial weapon proficiency). My suggested build would probably be something to the tune of: Wizard 5/ Warblade 1/ Jade Pheonix Mage 10/ X 4 Unfortunately, if you go Eldritch Knight after that, you lose 9th level spells (short of Epic) |
