Hello there, guys.

I'm currently trying out the swiftblade class. Our DM has started an epic level (25th) campaign. Currently, I'll be playing a Desert Kobold (Venerable Age) Sorcerer 3/Kobold Paragon 3/Swiftblade 10/Unseen Seer 4/Abjurant Champion 5.

Our DM has given us 6 million gold to work with. But, honestly, I've never used that sum of gold, or had an epic character. So I'm rather confused on what to spend it on.

Currently, all I know I want is the Slippers of Battledancing (DMG2).

Any help is appreciated greatly.

Character will be a gish. I'll lay out the feats.
Shaky (Flaw)
Dragonwrought
Expeditious Dodge
Mobility
Arcane Strike
Toughness
Dragonic Reserve
Minor Shapeshift
Practiced Spellcaster
Rapid Blitz
Epic Dodge

How do you qualify for Epic Dodge? (improved evasion, defensive roll class feature...)

Boots of Swiftness - Must have, but see if you can remove some things and lower the price.

Mantle of Great Stealth - Must have.

Healing Blood (LoM) = 182,000 gp

Luckstone = 20,000 gp

Clear Ioun Stone = 4,000 gp
Pale green Ioun Stone = 30,000 gp
Iridescent Ioun Stone = 18,000 gp

Admiral's Bicorn (Stormwrack) = 50,000 gp

5 Wishes for Charisma = 132,650 gp
5 Wishes for Constitution = 132,650 gp
5 Wishes for Strength = 132,650 gp

X doses of Trollbane = 50 gp each (Dungeonscape)

Ring of Universal Energy Immunity - Pricey, but nice. Consider Schemas of Energy Immunity, instead.

Schemas! Scrolls! Runestaves! Knowstones! A Robe of the Magi!

DM houseruled. Said it fit my character's flavor, so he limited the prereqs to 30 tumble and dodge.

Thank you for your suggestions, Cantrip. Out of curiosity, would you have a suggestion for a weapon? This is my first time playing a gish character like a swiftblade, I typically play Druids, would you have any suggestions towards that?

Would boots of swiftness be better than Slippers of Battledancing? The slippers let my use Charisma for my attack and damage rolls, instead of Strength. I'm curious what you'd consider better.

You can combine them for just an extra 50% on the Slippers. That's ~6K, no? Penny change.

BTW, you can't have 30 Tumble at your level (25) - you only have 28, at best.

As for a weapon, I suggest a Spinning Sword (Secrets of Sarlona). Possibly 2 of those.

Specifically, my Epic PC used this one: Everbright, Parrying, Sizing, Bodyfeeder, Setting Sun, Aptitude, Hardened Kaorti Resin Pitspawned Spinning Sword of Prismatic Burst and Ruin with Wand Chamber and Oil Chamber +5 (Nickname: Strand of Fate) = 271,925 gp
+
Greater Truedeath Crystal = 10,000 gp (slotted in Sword)

Some of it's powers:
Full Attack: +45/+40/+35/+30 (1d8+28, 17-20/x4)

Ignores DR and Hardiness
10' Reach and threaten adjacent.
+2 to confirm Critical Hits.
Prismatic Burst (see below).
Gain Temporary HP equal to ½ damage on Critical Hits made on living beings for 1 minute.
Can make Critical Hits vs. Undead, Constructs and Objects.
+1d6 to damage to Undead

Prismatic Burst: On a Critical Hit (even if target is not affected by crits normally), a Prismatic Spray affects the target at DC 20.

Oil Chamber: Full-round Action to load, Free Action to use on a hit. Sprays Trollbane on target, so that hit cannot be healed with Regeneration (any).

Obviously, mine was tailor made for that PC, yours would be different. (It also did this: Fort DC 33 or die on a Critical Hit + Slow for 1 round on a Critical Hit.

May have messed up at the math. You're probably right, I can always find a replacing feat. Probably Epic Toughness or something, since my character's HP isn't making me happy.

I do like the sword, and of course I'd change around somet hings, but that's excellent, Particularly like the slow-on-crit part.

Thank you again, Cantrip.

Boots of Swiftness stink, as they require a standard action to turn on the Haste function. The regular Boots of Speed are better. Just add all the extra crap you want to them, like +6 to Dex, the skill boosts, etc, using the Magic Item Compendium rules.

The haste doesn't matter to me much. I'll have haste on me more often than not, since I free cast Haste as a Swiftblade, and so on and so forth. But, since I'm probably going to play this as a spring attack/bounding assault/rapid blitz build, the part that doubles base speed interests me.

Hmm... true. I hardly even looked at your build. I just saw those boots, and remembered my distaste for them. ;)

It's cool, I never used them either. I play a Druid/Divine Disciple/Contemplative with the Travel and Celerity Domain.

Druid with haste. Screw boots.

But, if you have any suggestions, I'd be glad to look them over.
(Still trying to find a LoM PDF to look at Healing Blood, and Stormwrack to look at Admiral's Bicorn. Unfamiliar with them)

I think another interesting enchantment you can get on a weapon is Shadow-Forged (Book of Magic). The main thing is that, after it hits a foe, it attunes itself to what you need to overcome their DR. Mix it in with an Adamantine weapon and you'll have a weapon that can overcome almost any DR by hit 2.

Belt of Battle can be helpful, though I don't know how useful it will be for an Epic campaign.

Since you're a Sorcerer, talk to the DM about Knowstones (Dragon magazine #333) on some of the lower-levelled spells you might've missed out on. Granted, most Dragon materials are frowned upon, but this isn't a broken thing, and its designed to give the most to a Sorcerer. If you do have 9th level spells (which it looks like you do) you might be able to swing for a couple of 9th level Knowstones.

Try and snag the eager and warning enchantment bonuses on your weapon for a nice untyped bonus to your Initiative. Epic fights often boil down to who can strike first.

Drake Helms can grant you 4 more spells, and depending upon how the DM reads the wording, it could be from a non-arcane source.

And if the DM allows customization to items from the DMG, pick up the Sun Blade. Short Sword size that deals out d10 dice = fun output of damage when stacked with tons of bonuses and enchantments.

Thanks, Kin, I'll defiantly talk to my DM tonight about Knowstones.

Are they basically spells known? Or more like ethernal wands, as in they recharge?

You "equip" the stones, wait 24 hours for the stones to attune themselves to you. After the 24 hours is up, that spell is added to your spells known list. You un-equip a stone, the spell is removed from your list and it'll take another 24 hour period to attune itself to you. There's a cost table for how much it is to buy one outright or make one in the article itself.

The big thing about them is that they're an untyped magic item. And that so long as the knowstones "are part of a piece of jewelry" you can equip as many as you want.

Healing Blood grants Extraordinary Fast Healing 2, constantly.
An Admirals's Bicorn adds +2 Morale to almost every roll you make (+2 to all attacks, saves and skills checks to all allies who can hear within 100', +5 Proffesion (Sailor) and all Charisma checks, voice amplified to 100' class features that depend on range increase to this range).

That's +7 to CHA based skills (UMD), on top of other stuff. Planar Binding?

I'd definately invest in some Grafts if I was in your place!

From Races of the Dragon, there are some draconic grafts for which you should quilify methinks, being a kobold and all..

Draconic scales, +1 Natural Armor, stacks with enhancement bonuses, 5 resist in chosen energy type, 9000g and 4 HP (permanent loss)

Dragonheart Presence, immunity to paralysis + Frigthfull presence from Dragonkin, costs 56k g + 4 HP

ect...
