CONCEPT

My wife has presented me with a particular challenge -- she is playing a catfolk warrior (variant catfolk, see Race below), and wants me to cram all the following into a character, and make it good!

  • Primary melee
  • Two-weapon fighting
  • Strong cat traits:
    • High Dex rather than Str
    • Claws
    • Really fast in general, also with faster burst speeds
    • Good at jumping and pouncing
    • Natural climber
    • Superior senses (scent, lowlight, darkvision)

Starting Level: 10th

Starting Gold: 65,000, no limit on item price

Optimization Goal: Get the non-essential elements met adequately, then focus on as much TWF synergies as we can. I'm looking at dragoon-style pounce and crit-fishing, mostly via Tiger Claw maneuvers.

HOUSERULES & BOOKS

Show

Books: All 3.0, 3.5, and Pathfinder books are available. He's probably also open to Dr/Du mags.

Skills: We're using Pathfinder's skill system. Important differences for this build -- no extra cost for cross-class, max ranks = HD (all skill requirements for feats/PrCs should be reduced by three), and Balance, Jump, and Tumble are all wrapped into Acrobatics (Dex-based, wee!).

Feats: Feats are gained at every odd level.

Classes: We're free to choose between 3.5's or Pathfinder's versions of core classes. Regardless, there is no XP penalty for multiclassing.

Races: Since Pathfinder races tend to be more powerful than 3.5's (by approximately 1 LA), we're knocking off an LA of any D&D race, raher than giving Pathfinder races +1 LA. This isn't fully relevant, since I have a custom race, but it does explain why it probably looks too strong for a 1 LA.

Magic Items: We're ignoring body slot affinities, and we're adding in the Headband body slot that Pathfinder added, as well as making armor seperate from the Body slot. Custom items are allowed.

Unearthed Arcana: Fractional BAB and saves, flaws, and traits.
