| #1bladedancerJun 16, 2008 12:40:22 | Hey guys I was just looking for some input on this I have a halfdrow (I know poor race choice but it was for flavor) Hexblade4/Paladin of Tyranny 4/Drow Judicator 1 The feats I have so far (including a bonus one for my character background are as follows) SHield Specialization,Shield ward, divine shield, combat reflexes, meat of Lolth (the last two requirements for drow judicator. Now I need advice for where do go next for this character any thoughts? |
| #2gorthawarJun 16, 2008 16:19:48 | Well first of all a second lvl of DrowJudicator doesn't look too bad a profane +3 bonus on all your saves is nothing to sneer at even though your saves should be pretty good already. Then there is Blackguard or Pious Templer but with those feats you will have a hard time qualifying for another prc. You might want to reconsider some of your choices there anyways because right now your character doesn't look like he'd be a great help in combat. How about Power Attack and Brutal Strike? It's a pretty nice combo for debuffing your enemies further and doing some more damage along the way. |
| #3ninjarabbitJun 16, 2008 18:32:29 | The issue I have with your character is that it's not much more than a turtle: all defense and no offense. You need some way of making yourself an offensive threat or you're simply going to be ignored by your foes. Power attack and divine might are a good start to making yourself a much greater offensive threat..... maybe retrain some of those shield feats since they really aren't that great imo. |

| #6friendlyfrogJun 17, 2008 9:36:50 | What books are allowed? I agree with the others, Divine shield and Shield specialization aren't that good. Those Power attack and Divine would work a lot better, you probably want to do something else in addition to just standing near the enemy, soaking attacks and spells while debuffing them with your auras. Binder (with KotSS, perhaps) would be a perfect way to end the character, but that'd give you XP penalty for at least two levels. Ur-priest would mechanically be a great option, but the RP requirements don't really mix well with Drow judicator. |
| #7bladedancerJun 17, 2008 21:17:57 | Well shield specialization has to stay as it is a prerequisite feat for shield ward. I might be able to talk the dm into letting me trade divine might for divine shield. With my blade+acid+sudden stunning+myflaming weapon crystal I do ok damage so I am not worried about that. He was designed for defence and debuffing as we have plenty of heavy hitters in the party. Thanks everyone for your opinions. |
| #8Blade2718Jun 17, 2008 21:28:51 | As a debuffer, try to pick up Dreadful Wrath (regional feat, PGtF) and Never Outnumbered (skill trick, Complete Scoundrel) to put the fear of You into your opponents. The Hexblade's Dark Companion would be a better class feature for you; it's from PHBII. |
| #9bladedancerJun 19, 2008 2:31:57 | Already got the Dark companion for debuffing goodness. I'll have to look at that skill trick thanks for the info. |

| #11ratpickJun 23, 2008 18:35:05 | There's a feat in Drow of the Underdark (can't quite remember it's name, Imperious Presence perhaps?) that makes enemies a step more scared of you with a succesfull Intimidate check. I've seen it used to great effect in some builds. |
