High dex race

Jan 07, 2010 4:11:08 I'm playing in a high powered gestalt arena that starts at ECL10. I'm looking for a race with high dex, preferably also with high wis, for a sneak attack build. So far best I can come up with is a pixie, which fits nicely, but thought I'd ask if anyone knew a better fit. Can be from any source except Dragon or BoVD.

Jan 07, 2010 15:58:59 Catfolk gets the boost to Cha instead of Wis, but the +4 Dex for +1 LA is nice. The best Core race, though, may be the Githzeri with +6 Dex and +2 Wis for only LA+2 with a few other benefits (free armor, for example).

Jan 10, 2010 10:06:13 Not sure how many class levels you were looking to take, but the sharn is the way to go. It is in the Monsters Compendium of Faerun (LA in the 3.5 update for Faerun) and gets:

+8 str, +10 dex, +10 Con, +8 Int, +8 Wis, +10 Cha
Limited Regeneration
Evasion, Continous Haste
Hex portals that it can attack through (sneak attack from across the map)
7th level Sorc and 5th level Cleric Casting
9 Arms and 3 heads (alot of sneak attacks)

All of this for 4HD (abberation) and +5 LA.

Take rogue on the other side and you should be good to go. Not a race for normal play, but great for arena.

The winged template from savage speices is a +2 LA and gives +4 dex and +2 Wis.
Anthropomorphic animals from that book can also get decent adds to different stats for low to no LA.

Jan 15, 2010 18:20:32 From off the top of me head, Beguilers (ShS) get +6 Dex, extremely freaking bad-ass wicked ninja traits and a +0 LA. Top it.

Beguilers are a sort-of "ultimate 0 ECL race" for sneakers. The +8 racial Hide mod, +6 Dex, and +4 from size total up to a whopping +15 to Hide. Add on true seeing, a climb speed, +2 Int, darkvision, and lowlight vision, and you've got the best possible base race for . . . anything, really, but particularly awesome for roguey types.

Whisper Gnome gets +2.
