#3 vortsukoto Jul 29, 2013 15:07:42	It looks like for no adjustment of any sort, your best bet is the +2 Int race of your choice. (Grey Elf, Lesser Tifling, Sun Elf, etc.) And then age them up to their oldest age category for a total of +5 Int.
#4 daedhaed Jul 29, 2013 15:24:35	Yeah but in the end there is really no reason to go above old age unless you take a bloodline that increases int by one. Levels get you +5, tome is +5 and a +6 item is as good as it gets. 36 is as high as it gets without LA or bloodlines. I guess I need to find what LA race or template gives me the most bang for my buck and then buy it off.

Yes, and yes, all the paragon classes in UA raise different ability scores.  Not sure off the top of my head but one of the Paragon classes? Elf paragon does but I lose a level of casting and I'm not sure if that is quite worth it.

#10 daedhaed Jul 30, 2013 4:35:12	I wonder if there is a template with +1 LA that has +4 Int or better. I need to find a location that has all templates compiled somewhere. Chameleon does look interesting and boosts Int by 6 as a competence bonus.

#12 Maat_Mons Jul 30, 2013 11:10:49	I don't think there's a +2 LA template that provides +4 int or a +1 LA template that provides +2 int.   With level adjustment, I don't think you'll find anything better than adding the primordial giant template (Secrets of Xen'drik, p79) to a half-giant or an eniko (Secrets of Sarlona, p109).  If you're willing to go up to +3 LA, you can add phrenic on top of that.  That couldn't be fully bought off until 18th level though.

#14 daedhaed Jul 31, 2013 16:02:23	If you feel particularly cheesy, you could go with Primordial Incarnate Half-Whichever-Template-That-Makes-You-Large-That-You-Qualify-For Warforged. Or you could abuse Dustform. Most of those templates incur a -2 to int thus causing only a +2 to int unless I'm reading something wrong. Old Age Primordial Magic-Blooded Half-Giant or (my personal favorite option) Old Age Primordial Half-Minotuar Magic-Blooded Grey Elf with the LA bought off of both of them would have +6 Int and some other stat bonuses and negatives along with other benefits. If I use Reincarnate cheese I could obtain an infinitasmaly large mental scores but I wanna stay away from that kind of cheese.
#15 JanusJones Aug 14, 2013 21:51:07	Ahem. Exiled Modrons from Dragon #354 get a +2 base Int. The Phrenic template from the XPH may be applied to "any nonmindless creature" that isn't psionic, and grants +2 Int. Incarnate Construct from Savage Species reduces the LA by 2. Take your base +4 Int with +0 LA, and age that weird little fleshbot a few hundred years ... +7 base Int. Of course, a Dragonwrought kobold could always get you a +3, or an Arcane Gnome, Grey Elf, Deep Imaskari, or ... aw hell, I forget, but any of those'll get you a +5 if you're willing to take a -6 to all your physical stats.  I've been wanting to stat out an "ancient master" build for fun.  Not practical, but just to see if I could make a very basic, not completely incompetent non-caster who ran off of mental stats only.
