| #1SDDNDGROUPOct 14, 2013 20:33:12 | So If I have a companion and I am playing DD& 3.5 edition and that companion has 6d12+6 and I have the Wild Cohort feat for my companion and I am a 7th Level character, does that mean my hit die go to 9d12+6? Also, what else gets affected and exactly how much, if my hit die go up? I am still learning how to play with a companion with a Wild Cohort Feat. Thank you for your help. |

For example, if your 7th-level character chooses a black bear (from the 4th-level list), his effective level is reduced by 3 for the purpose of determining the extra benefits the animal cohort receives. So, the black bear would increase its Hit Dice and natural by 1 (to 4d8+8 and +3 natural armour), would gain one bonus trick, and would have the evasion ability. If he'd instead chosen one of the base animal choices, like a riding dog, it would have the full benefits listed for being the cohort of a 7th-level character. |
