| #1BadCatManApr 07, 2008 6:21:58 | Hi there. I have a character, a Human Cleric of Gond who is aiming for the Techsmith PrC. (Yeah, yeah, I know. The Gondsman. Humour me.) I had an idea of him making golems and constructs with the Craft Construct feat. A gunslinging cowboy cleric who rounds up constructs and clockwork creatures is sorta the idea. Anyway, Cleric is not the best choice for the tech-caster type. All the best options in the theme go to the Wizard. But I like the Cleric for this character (and there's two other Wizards already). So there were two things I wondered if I could do. The first is casting the Repair X Damage line of spells to repair my constructs adequately. But these are Sor/Wiz spells (Transmutation), not Cleric. The other is dipping into the Effigy Master PrC for easier constructs, but this needs to have Simulacrum on its spell-list. Again, it's a Sor/Wiz spell (Illusion). So is there a way can I get these spells on a Cleric spell list? I know about the Divine Magician variant from Complete Mage. Sadly this only allows for Abjuration, Necromancy or Divination spells. The setting is FR, 32-point buy, all books considered. Current level is 5th. Thanks for any help and ideas. |

So grab that domain and you're good to go. There may be a domain for 'forged in eberron that grants the repair line, iirc. That doesn't help you though... *shrug* Best bet? Refer your DM to the researching new spells guidelines and make clerical versions of the repair line... It's definitely not overpowered... |

I guess I could always buy a couple of wands of Repair X for the party wizards. Or beg some spellcasting services from them when needed for other things. Thanks for your help. |

This opens up the possibility of all domains, the adept class, druid, ranger, paladin, and any divine-casting PrC spells. |

| #7Dictum_MortuumApr 07, 2008 9:32:14 | There is the alternative class feature that lets you trade a domain for 1 spell known/spell level. Only from abjuration, divination and necromancy though. |
