How can I convince my DM to let me start working into the Circle of the 8?

So, my character is a nuetral good character and my DM says that I need to convince her to let me start doing this affiliation because the diety they worship in neutral evil. How can I convince her to let me do this? Her biggest issue is my alignment. I've had suggestions to go and try and actually disband the group by becoming one of the leaders or something along those lines. What do you think would be the best way to convince her to allow this? After asking for variations to my characters development this is the first one she has not said no to right away, and instead said give reasons why a NG character would worship a NE diety or otherwise convince her why to allow the variation.

Books availible:

players handbook 1 and 2

DM guides

Monster manuals 1-5

unearthed arcana

complete arcana

complete mage

and a few others that we haven't used just yet.

1) Have the Circle of Eight ever had "recruitment" guidelines ever published? I mean, ever? No? Thus, any method is as good as any other.

2) I thought the Circle was expressly neutral. As in, "moderating a balance between good and evil" being kind of their entire raison d'etre. There are evil mages in the circle, but there have been good ones too (Tenser, for instance).

Without knowing how your DM has altered the Circle of Eight for your world, I can't begin to answer this question, apart from saying that alignment arguments are a bad idea.

She hasn't changed anything, she is going with what was written in the Players handbook 2. And the order says you need to worship a deity that is NE and says why would a NG character worship someone so evil?

Worshipping of the diety is her biggest concern. Also if it helps we are doing the campaign "return to the temple of elemental evil".

The Circle of Eight is only mentioned once in the Player's Handbook 2, and this is it:

From the Knights of the Round Table to the Circle of Eight, from the Vestal Virgins to the Knights Templar, fantasy, myth, and medieval romance have always been fi lled with affi liations. Where would Robin Hood be without his band of Merry Men? For that matter, what challenge would the Sheriff of Nottingham present without his tax men and the support of the usurper King John? Could  Frodo have survived without the Fellowship?

When it comes to "worshipping" a deity your alignment only matters if you are a cleric or other divine spellcaster.  Now different world views could be a problem but there's no reason a NG Wizard couldn't "worship" a NE deity.

Sorry, I made a mistake. I was reading about something else and got the names mixed up. I was reading up of the stories involving that group which is why I mixed the two up. I've been doing so much reading I am mixing things up..

I meant to say "the one and the five." I am sorry.

It is not necessarily the case, the PC knows that Vecna is NE.

Also the PC could be roleplaying "who they are" instead of "I'm Neutral Good".

And things can get a little wacky.

Real life example:

consider that during the USA Slavery era,

BOTH sides used the exact same verses of the Bible,

to bolster their respective positions.

So what's their respective d&d alignments, then?
