| #1divinechaos78May 24, 2009 7:40:34 | Well Ive been running a idea for a character thats the mother of all Leaders, when I stumbled upon the idea of what it would be like to have a kickarse Erinyes serving me as my pleasure slave hehe. Then I took a look at how difficult it would be to do so, even with the Mindbender prc's Eternal Charm ability, If I'm guessing right since it works "as the spell Charm Monster", wouldn't I have to find some way to greatly reduce both its spell resistance 20 and its Will save of 10 just to secure it as mine permanetly. Does anyone know whats a sure way to temp reduce those two factors so that I can use Eternal Charm and succeed? |
| #2CantripNMay 24, 2009 8:25:52 | Assay Spell Resistance (4th level spell) adds +10 to passing SR, which means you probably make it on a 1. If that's not enough, quite a few items and feats add to your CL for passing SR. As for the Will Save, it's awful anyway. She's likely to fail no matter what, but feel free to use a Mind Fog (5th level spell) before. There are tons of other ways to reduce saves, such as Crushing Despair, Shaken (condition), Sickened (condition), and many, many, more. |

My party went to thieves guild city and ransacked it, so we have enough pp and gp to own a country. ;) As for the Will Save, it's awful anyway. If you were me, how would you go about reducing a Erinyes's SR and saves exactly? |
| #4tshernMay 24, 2009 8:43:23 | Anything that increases caster level does that. Looking at Ring of Arcane Might, orange ioun stone, Beads of Karma and whatnot. Mind fog is from the Player's Handbook and, obviously, the SRD. Even though you did not ask me, I can give you some advice how to defeat the Erinyes: -Cast Assay spell resistance (it is a fourth level divination spell in the Spell Compendium) as it gives you a +10 bonus to punch through the SR. This alone should be quite sufficient. -Reducing the will save is a bit more tricky. Using Mind fog in conjunction with Assay spell resistance is one way. The other is to have someone intimidate the Erinyes (shaken condition reduces the will save), cast an Enervation or few at the monster before using Eternal charm or use any other debuff spells. Make it a party effort. |

Just think, me... soon to be the father to a half-fiend baby hehe.... next stop... 6th layer of hell.... lol |
| #6tshernMay 24, 2009 9:29:11 | No problem, no problem. Good to hear this solved your little dilemma. And remember, Dispater favours erinyes as well. How could he be wrong? |
| #7hijaxxMay 24, 2009 11:57:05 | *cough* brachina/pleasure devil Fiendish codex II, page 134 *cough* |

| #9divinechaos78May 24, 2009 15:45:07 | *cough* Ohhh yeah good idea mate hehe, Once I get enough levels in Mindbender prc, I'm going to have both a brachina/pleasure devil, and a succubus as my right and left hand servants... (evil grin). As a great man once said, "Hail to the king baby"... hehehe |
| #10godkyraMay 24, 2009 15:48:27 | Monstrous Thrall (Spell Compendium P142) Permanent true domination. It has a duration of 24 hours per level yet still says in the description that it is permanent. I'm not sure if it's quite on the mark either - but a scroll of that and you're away. |
| #11tshernMay 24, 2009 18:18:04 | Doesn't really matter now does it? Once the creature is dominated you can just tell it to fail the next save and cast Dominate monster or whatever again... |
| #12user5127May 24, 2009 21:57:30 | doesn't the bestow curse spells allow you to hit their saves or spell resistance. limited wish too iirc is a -7 to next save on the target? |
| #13thorn-wychkinMay 25, 2009 14:45:15 | why do you want a filthy Erinyes instead of a sexy succubus |
| #14tshernMay 25, 2009 15:32:48 | why do you want a filthy Erinyes instead of a sexy succubus Devils>demons. |
| #15divinechaos78May 26, 2009 12:01:17 | Well my character build is an Illumian, Marshal 2 / Warlock 3 / Mindbender (prc) 6 / Legendary Leader (prc) 5. Flaws: I'm looking at obtaining both one pleasure devil (fiendish codex 2), and one female oculus demon (expedition to the demonweb pits). Both for the purpose of having two wicked bodyguards, consorts, pleasure slaves (evil grin), and mothers of my children... hehe (think echidna from greek myth idea, x2 hehe). Also I was thinking would it be possible to (with my DM's permission to further develop my character's story) work in my Oculus Demon having levels in the "Fiend of Blasphemy-prc", while my Pleasure Devil would have levels in the "Fiend of Corruption-prc" (since I'm curious if said creatures while under the "Eternal Charm", gain xp). If I have a creature under Eternal Charm, do they gain xp or are they entitled to gaining xp at a equal or decreased amount as a cohort to the one who is their master (meaning me)? Basicly my goal would be to gather enough followers (souls) to then become worshipers, so that I can ascend to Godhood. hehe. Does anyone know some ways into obtaining true worshippers. Also how can I gain divine rank with as short a time possible, yet I still want to be a playable character so what could I do to keep my divinity a secret roleplay wise... any ideas? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. |
| #16phaedrusxyMay 26, 2009 13:38:15 | Also how can I gain divine rank with as short a time possible Google Pun-Pun. :D |
| #17divinechaos78May 26, 2009 14:00:14 | Ummmm I'm not a kobold... What do you mean by pun pun? What can pun pun's build do to help with me gaining divine rank quick? |
| #18CantripNMay 26, 2009 14:21:24 | What he does is get a "Copy" of a god and have it make you proxy, which gives you a Divine rank, and looping it around with his powers to make himself have infinite Divine Rank. It's not too complicated, just silly. Suffice to say, you won't be using that theoretical piece any time soon in any case. As for a legitimite way to do that - kill a lesser god (not likely with your build), become a proxy of some real god by RP, or any other RP way to do it. In essense, ask your DM. |
| #19hijaxxMay 26, 2009 14:28:36 | step 1: take sechew materials feat. this means any material components whithout a listed cost is ignored. this happens to include the "part of the creature to clone" part of ice assasin and simulacrum" create a ice assasin of an overdeity. have him make you his proxy. this gets you 1 DvR make a small squirrel you proxy have the god do the proxification again. new squirrel proxy repeat until you have as many DvRs as you want. then use a standard action to recall all the DvRs from the squirrels watch the boredom of winning DnD... EDIT: damn, cantrip is a ninja. |

| #21CantripNMay 26, 2009 17:02:31 | You can't seriously be considering this... No DM will ever let you do that, with good reason. Nor should you, as it's silly, unless that's your thing - making a fae little world inside your mind where you're a god. Me, I like staying on the ground. |
