How does Share Spells work?

May 26, 2009 20:09:56 If i cast Mage Armor or Shield on me, it affects my familiar too, right? But how about spells like Polymorph, Bite of the Werebear or Lightning Leap (CM), would they work the same way?

May 26, 2009 21:17:28 If 'you' are the target of the spell, and your familiar is within 5ft of you, it can gain the benefits of that spell (or not, at your discretion) as if it was a part of you as long as it doesn't move more than 5ft away.

May 27, 2009 0:22:50 You can also target the familiar alone with a spell that normally targets "You", and not benefit from the spell yourself. In this case, the familiar is not restricted to staying within 5 feet of you. See my sig for a thread on optimizing the Share Spells ability.
