Basically what is the best way to get haste?

depends on how you want to enter it.  You can enter via master trap maker (or whatever the prestige class in dungeonscape was) as it has haste as a level one spell.  I had a fun version where I was a duskblade/dragonwizard/swiftblade.  You should tell us what are your objectives.  Better casting?  Better fighting?  Any particular class you want or spell list?  Telling us want can help us figure out what is the best version of haste for you.

- Extra spell, if DM allows it
- Arcane Disciple(time)
- the trapsmith class from Dungeonomicon as 1-level dip
- Wyrm Wizard dip

A trapsmith and wyr wizard those were the classes I was thinking of.

So I had a duskblade/wyrm wizard/swiftblade.  Use wyrm wizard to take haste as a first level spell and using duskblade you have a metric ton of first level spells (double if you use a ring of wizardry 20 first level spells wow).  Probably the best for a swiftblade that wants to be hasted at all times and fights not casting.  At high levels you would be making full attacks on the move with bonuses and using your extra standard action to channel a spell while striking an enemy.  Fun and nasty.

Be aware that a RIng of wizardry doubles your base spells, not any of your bonus spells (i.e. from Int, spec, etc).  It's why many prefer Pearls...cheaper and more flexible, if you don't just want large variety of spells, but more "sorceror like" ability to repeat cast.

Oh I know that but have you seen the number of base spells a duskblade gets?  It goes up to 10!  A ring of wizardry gets you to 20 first level spells before bonus spells.  I am not even sure you need that many but it is sweet to have.

Duskblade is a spontaneous caster, so you can't use a pearl of power, but you can use a memento magica. The price of a memento magic is the spell level squared times 1,500 gp.

You can buy 13 1st level memento magica for 19,500 gp, 6 2nd level memento magica for 36,000 gp, 5 3rd level memento magica for 67,500 gp, and 4 4th level memento magica for 96,000 gp.

So, in order for a ring of wizardry to be the better choice, you need 14 base 1st level spell slots (type I), 7 base 2nd level spell slots (type II), 6 base 3rd level spell slots (type III), or 5 base 4th level spell slots (type IV).

Of course, this is ignoring the fact that a ring takes up a body slot.

Well I do not recall those mementos so I would not have thought about them.  My point though was more to the sheer number of castings of haste (and other spells) a duskblade can provide.

not that it will be remotely neccessary - an STR-focused illumian AshKrau Duskblade Swiftblade has A LOT of 1st lvl spellslots (not to mention the 2nd and 3rd etc) and (thanks to practiced spellcaster and Krau) a CL = his LVL ... so the Haste will a) last long enough and b) can be cast more than enough times per day ...

but to contribute:

Duskblade/Wyrmwiz/Swiftblade looks like a smart choice ... ALLTHOUG you will have to take this preparation feat (arcane preparation??? - CompArc) b/c Wyrmwiz requires you to prepare arcane spells ...

on a sidenote: Swiftblade 10 is a completely dead lvl for that build - since a duscblade never gets 6th lvl spellslots (versityle spellcaster put asside) ... and I'd round the Build up with Abjurant Champion
