How to play a cloistered cleric?

I was just wondering what some nice tricks were to playing a cloistered cleric as a support character? I realize some buffs (foremost divine power) would negate most of the cloistered clerics weaknesses, but I'd prefer to play the character as a support character. What kind of spells should I look into? I'll be able to convert spells to healing spells of equivalent level at will so there's no worries there.

I'm kind of wanting to play the character like I'd play a wizard, ie. battle field control, but I'm unfamiliar with the right spells to do that. Obviously, I'll be buffing my allies a lot, certain spells are no brainers for this kind of character - wall of blades springs to mind, but other then that I have no idea where to start.

Basically any books are available, I'm not looking for a build or anything, just some pointers and a starting point for spells and what I should be looking at.

I have a feeling chain spell and whichever spell it is that turns spells into rays will be seeing a lot of use in order to buff (or heal) the party very quickly. I'd appreciate any pointers you can give. Thanks in advance.

well, it's not exactly what you are looking for, but it's a start.

I like the Beguiler 1/Cloistered Cleric X/Dweomerkeeper 10/Other Prc Y personally.

Divine Oracle, Contemplative and Paragnostic Apostle all are thematic Full-casting PrCs that sacrifice physical combat power for other abilities.

Dweomerkeeper is from the Complete Divine Web Enhancement found here.

You can pull off the above without beguiler if you'd like using player's guide to faerun. Replacing beguiler with factotum and able learner would be nice too.

To answer the question I know will be asked: see the Magical Training feat in PGtF.

why do you need arcane spells? I just saw the link for the prestige and it doesn't require arcane casting. Haven't read the class abilities though.

Did you look at the 3.0 or the update 3.5 in the web enhancement for complete divine? The 3.5 definitely has a requirement that you be able to cast arcane spells to get into dweomerkeeper...
